ARES-216ci now with video(updated)

This is my new cannon Ares(god of war). It was built after I was inspired by woffers and pcv's 2" sprinkler cannons.

Chamber- 4.5ft of 3" pvc

Barrel- 6ft of 2" with a potato cutter tip

valve- moddified 2" sprinkler valve acctuated with 3/4" ball valve

psi range- 60 to 116psi( ear plugs are a must!)

other features- handle and shoulder strap and soon laser sighting.

primary ammo- potatos and lemons, soon I will fill an old spray can with water and freeze it  we'll see how that goes.

Thanks to pvc arsenal 17 and rna duelers for their help.

here are some pics, soon I'll have a dmg video I still need to edit it.

edit: this pic of it whole is misleading, the barrel is not at a steep angle as it looks in the pic. I had to take it from my balcony to get it all in, the cannon is lying on its side so it looks more angulated than it really is.

cheers

heres some melon carnage, quality isnt as good as I had hoped but you get the idea  http://youtube.com/watch?v=rHxGv-1sjlw

more vids for you  My old stereo verses Ares

Nice and big, shame you couldn't extend that brace a little. This looks like it can deal out quite a bit of punishment, damage pics!

On a sidenote:
This is a .50 handgun with "Desert Eagle .50" written on the side of the barrel. Yours has "Replica" written on it. Lets see whos will do the most damage shall we?
surely you mean:
And the fact that you've got "replica" written down the side of your guns... and the fact that I've got "Desert Eagle point five-oh written on the side of mine, should precipitate your balls into shrinking, along with your presence. Now . . . **** off.
I even made an avatar of that scene :D

the support is fine so far, tight and strong.
It is a mutha to shoot though and take pics of at the same time. I tried to to a barrel cam thing but failed miserably :( I'll get some pics by mid week and hopefully a video too.
Im keen to use the 150grm frozen spray can  I just need an adequate target to destroy.

hey JSR you like daags? lol

Awesome cannon, mtronic! I've been waiting for this. Post videos!

How'd you get the valve working?

Like the sling and the handle concept, not quite so impressed with the muzzle knife - looks a little sloppy and not very sharp either.

Imagine it's powerful though because of the large valve, bore and long barrel.

@JSR: Believe it or not, Vinnie Jones lives in a cul-de-sac within 100 metres of my house...

sweet!

ah by the way, presumably, unlike your royal doppelgänger, you do know who your father is ;D

Celebrities aren't uncommon around my town - it's near London, but small and quiet, so it's central, but without nosy reporters. It doesn't really surprise anyone to hear that some famous person has moved in.

And yes I do know who my father is (unfortunately).
The genetic weirdo and physical resemblance (height, and facial features), make it pretty certain.

I'm not joking, I have been mistaken for Prince Harry a few times, and told I resemble him many more. The first instance was at Bangor Castle when a woman exclaimed after I had passed: "Was that Prince Harry?"

I never quite got it... tell you what, what do you think?
Me
HRH Prince Harry

There is an undeniable resemblance, I suppose if you had to grow your hair a bit longer and walk around in preppy outfit accompanied by two men in black suits and shades with ear mikes, you'd have most people fooled :)

Well, nobody that knows me gets it - they can see where it might come from, but... well. Curiously, our heights match almost exactly.

There are enough people that say it that maybe if they decide to set up a RAG (Raise and Give - charity stupidity basically) at my uni, then we could try to have a joke with that wandering around town. My hair's rather lighter I would have said - hair colour might be needed.
