Very low chamber volume means less power and more pressure able to build up from the CO2. Be carefull...

thanks for the warning i was thinking the same thing but the first test fire went great it was not ment for long range thats why the barrel is short its about a 20 or 25 yard gun ment for close combat

i don't want to sound mean but, you know that sprinkler valve is not designed for the kind of pressures and cold that a 12 gram can generate, i strongly recomend using a metal pressure chamber that will 100 to 150 psi. you would als find out that with a pressure chamber the co2 will have room to expand giving it more power and distance. i also play paintball alot and have reffed alot, and no field i have been on would allow you use your launcher the way it is currently set up. and for your safety and the safety of anyone close to you please DO NOT fire it again till you make changes.

So tell me exactly how you got this gun to handle the 300 psi, or so at the very least, generated by a 12 gram?Hate to sound mean but you are on a quick path to plastic explosion.
Second, how does the breach lock?I would assume friction?

That's a very interesting design. As said before though, there are some things that need changes. I know that sprinkler valves such as that are only rated for 125 psi (the can be modded for 175 I think however). If the CO2's regulated however, I don't think you'll have any problems (of course, I've never worked with CO2).

i have been trying to design a grenade lancher for airsoft/paintball for the last week or so, and the breech loading system you got there will definatly inspire me for my design, nice launcher, it would look great on a m4/ar-15 assualt rifle

thanks for the feed back ill redesign the chamber safety
it would look great on a m4/ar-15 assualt rifle
it was originally desighned to go under a gun

its friction lock for now until i can think of away to lock it better

grumpy how big a chamber would you say i need and take into count i want to stay as small as possible once again thanks for all the feed back its just helps me make a better cannon

"Discussion of solid propellants, explosive devices or incendiary projectiles fired specifically from a spud cannon is prohibited, and may result in a permanent banning of your account."

"Incendiary projectile: Any projectile that is capable of producing flame.

1. Rocket propelled projectiles, pyrotechnic smoke bombs, or any other burning projectiles would qualify as an incendiary projectile."

@ benstern: smoke bombs are permitted in paintball/airsoft wars, its not like he is giving instructions on how to make one.

But it is not permitted on spudfiles, irregardless of context.

Discussion of solid propellants
the mentioning of the way i play paintball is hardly a discussion about "incendiary devices" im just simply looking for feed back on how to improve my cannon i know your a moderator and thats your job but by mentioning what its used for will allow people to better help me for my needs sorry for the mention i will fix it

quiggly17- Firstly great idea, interesting design, but it be easier to go with a coaxial design, Google "Warmachine" 's t-shirt guns. and then use a butchered blowgun to pilot the piston.

Benstern isn't a mod, I am though and I say it's fine. You merely mentioned you had shot a smoke bomb, if it's legal in paintball where you shot it, then it's fine here as long as you don't discuss it too much.
