Wow, nice PB gun! Does sdr 21 1/2 really have that tight of a fit?

your problem is that the paintballs are to loose in barrel, and roll down the barrel when fired causing them to spin and fly all over the place, for better accuracy change your barrel 1/2" sdr 21 pvc pipe, you will also see an increase in fps because of the tighter fit.

@Spudblaster, nice job on both the gun and video. if you don't mind i would like to post your video on a paintball forum, to show just what kind of damage a paintball can do, and why the fps should not be turned to high when playing games and shooting other players.

WOW that is definatly something.
You have inspired me to build my own super powerful, cool looking paintball cannon.

you got just beautiful launchers and whats even better is that you for most got a video of them! im just impressed what a paintball does at this speed!

but i still wanna see a marble going trough something

Actually, at these velocities, I've seen few paintballs that fire straight. I've run all sorts of paint through my "Revamped" Q.E.V. launcher, which has a .68" x 36" bore, and none of them flew straight past about 20'.

Also, SpudBlaster, that "assumption" mentioned in the beginning of your video is the most dangerous idea running around paintball fields down here. People chrony their guns at 290, walk out onto the field, and crank em back up to around 350 again. The refs sometimes catch em with those little handheld chrony "alarms" they have, (two of my best friends are refs at Paintball Command" here in Mandeville), and the most common excuse is "They're just paintballs, dude!"

I need to make one of these type videos as an "educational medium".

You've got me confused... killjoy hasn't posted in this topic yet - were you talking about SB15?

But other than that, I quite agree with what you say, people assume they're completely safe.
If you want, I can run you my videos of paintball shots for you to use in an educational video. If it stops a few people completely disregarding the safety of others, then I'm more than happy for the videos to be used for that purpose.

If you want them, just PM me an email address, and when I'm all done with my current videoing, I'll fish out all the PB ones (including older ones) and send them off for you.

That is one nice gun! It has a lot of power, especially with paintballs.
@ solar, I have found that cheap paintballs don't fly nearly as straight as the expensive ones, since the cheap ones aren't made to as high of a standard, but even the expensive ones don't fly perfectly straight past 150 feet or so.

@Ragnarok: Yes, I meant to say SpudBlaster15. I had just finished posting in a topic mentioning his FEAR cannon, so I guess I was a bit confused.

If you want to send those videos, just email them to markfandal@markfh11q.net . I'd probably only need a few. Still don't know whether or not it'll have any impact on the stupid people who do it or not...

@Carlman: no, I don't anymore. I just took the still off the video and deleted it.

@ markfh11q, i know that he won't get great accuracy but it would be better with a tighter barrel. i often play in scenario games as a player/ref to catch cheaters, i was interested in the video for the same reason as you, hoping to show people that it's not good shooting hot. a couple of years ago i got lite up by a kid that was chronoed at 426 fps when he was caught, still got the six scars to show for it.

Thanks for the responce. One last question! How accurate is your gun at, oh, say 300 fps? I would think it would be more accurate because of less speed = less air resistance of the pb seam = less curving.

Rag, or anyone with a pb gun, how 'bout you?

I have to wonder why I'd want to turn HEAL down so low I was getting 300 fps, but I shall see. Checking GGDT, I need to go down to just 15 psi for that velocity...

@markfh11q: People don't realise that 355 fps is 50% more energy than 290. 410 fps is twice 290 in energy levels. That's an unfortunate side effect of the energy being the square of the velocity - 355 fps doesn't sound much more than 290, but I tell you, that's a difference I don't want to get hit by.

Well, maybe you should keep a launcher around that you can easily fiddle to fire at either 290 fps or 355 and show them (with a practical demonstration), the difference... I may be kidding on that, but I'm sure it would stop some people.

@SB15: If I like something, I won't hesitate to say so - (most of) my opinions are free, you don't have to thank me for them.
