Hey folks!

Ive been lurking around Spud Files for the past few months now, so i thought it was about time to sign up and share my first completed Pneumatic.
This model has had many chops and changes but im finally happy with its design...
SPECS
VALVE: modded 3/4inch sprinkler valve
CHAMBER: 60mm x 10inch long pressure rated PVC
BARREL: 17mm x 75cm long stainless steel
STOCK: 15mm pressure rated PVC plus various joints
TRIGGER: 1/4inch ball valve
SCOPE: Nikko Stirling 4x40 Gold Crown

I built this because i wanted something different, as since i was a kid ive built combustions, so pneumatics were new to me. I found that using the 1/4inch ball valve for a trigger rather than a blowgun the sprinkler valve gets better air flow and opens faster (maybe i had a dodgy blow gun???)

When i constructed the stock, i didnt want any airflow going through it so i blocked the two ends off by fashioning two small PR PVC discs that would fit perfectly inside the T pieces (see diagram). Once they were cemented in, the stock was fitted which created the seal.
The chamber used to be much larger... im talking about 2ft of the 60mm PVC, which was pretty lousy unless i was resting it on something or using a bipod because it was so unbalanced. It wasnt until i experimented around a bit that i found i could get decent power with a smaller chamber like i have now.

EDIT: Btw to make it more balance you could of added weights to the stock to balance it back out, but it'd make the gun overall more heavy, and a fold-up bi-pod would add a nice little touch!

i havent had a chance to use it at its full potential yet (work, neighbors), i usually keep it at about 50-60psi which i rekon is more than enough!

The performance is great, when i first made it it had a ball valve instead and the paintball barrel was all i used for all ammo types. Once i changed these two things performance and accuracy went up by a mile.

Nice gun man i can tell you put a lot of work into this. Hey what kind of scope is that and how much did it cost?

Nice job with the secondary chamber, more people should do that.

Great first build you have yourself there mate. You should be very proud. Best of luck with more builds in the future.

good one for your first, but one small suggestion, whack in a barrel support, on that can be removed easily to put the thinner chamber in. im only saying this cos im sure theres a lot of pressure on that solenoid valve.

Wow...i....have the same designs as you have.
I'm still working on it though.
My air chamber is smaller in diameter and is closer to the barrel. The stock is a bit smaller.
The blocking piece i used to block air from pressurizing the stock was a sanded down 1/2 inch endcap.

The scope is a Nikko Stirling 4x40 Gold Crown, which i picked up for $20 (!) at a local gun store because was missing its end caps and had a wobbly piece in it (which i fixed).

hey Novacastrian, i just noticed that in the 4th pic the scope looks way too far forward, but i think that might just be the camera. I set it to the most comfy position to shoot with... but i may be wrong, it might be too far forward.

CM, there usually is a support b/w the barrel and the chamber, i must have forgotten to put it back on that day when i was changing the gear around. Thanks for noticing though, i'll make a note not to forget that again.

VERY nice! The barrel and larger diameter chamber give it a cool look. Cant go wrong with a black paint job too 8)

I assume you have a threaded hose barb coming from your sprinkler vavle? It looks as if its coming out at an odd angle from the cap on your valve... is it just me?

Does the scope work good on this one? Ive shot my uncles Ruger .300 mag using that same scope, and it was pretty good for that purpose!
