HEY, is that a toilet plunger sealing face I see? Good job! I knew people would come to a sense that it makes a wonderful seal.

I clap to you, MrCrowley, for making use of my favorite breech loading system.

Nice gun as always, but how do you take that pilot plug off? It looks like you would have to take off several of the fittings starting from the outside and going in to be able to unscrew it.

I don't mind that much, there is nothing that can go wrong IMO. With the SGA I ended up gluing the end cap on and in over 50 firings, it's been perfect. The piston in this is so simple, basic and strong that I don't see me having to unscrew the pilot plug in the near future. Before the paint job I did have to replace the sealing face because the washer was a tiny bit too small, only took 10minutes to take the pilot fittings off.

I'm just worried about the paint work most of all, I had to paint the pilot setup black while it was on the cannon, otherwise my plumbing wrench would wreck the paint job.

Thanks, it's about 1.5m long with the 2" barrel, not that short

I'm not sure. These are about 60mm in diameter with a ~15mm diameter hole in the middle.

I have seen bigger ones that are around 100mm+, but they're $12 so I don't bother.

Yeah it does make a great seal, best sealing face i've ever used. I used one on the SGA and my small co-axial.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the Omega project. Maybe subconsciously my mind was telling me how great a cannon it would've been and to put some features into my new cannon.

It's a great system, can't believe more don't try it. Simple, basic, quick loading, cheap...
Only thing is at 90psi the recoil knocks the golfball barrel out of the coupler because it can only fit about 2cm in. So i'll just sand the coupler down a bit and it should be fine.

A good remedy for this is to wrap some towels around the fitting then clamp on the monkey wrench, it shouldn't damage your great paint job

Yeah i've done that before, it'd just be a pain because some of the fittings on here are really, really tight so they have the perfect angle.

But hopefully it will never come to that.

This cannon is rocking. Great design. Looks like it is very powerful at low pressure. I guess a piston will do that for you. Keep em coming, and you can put on a how to for the rest these slimy gits.
