Correct.

He also had another design that did pierce the disk, but he lost it :(
Oh, okay.

Davidvaini, you just gave me a quick fix for my non-functioning grenade launcher, thanks. :D
And well burst disks don’t completely solve my problem, they’ll work until a can get that danged piston valve to work.
Dang stupid piston valve; every time I get it working something else goes wrong. Now the threads are seized and I can’t get the valve body open to fix it…

Just a little sneak peak at my rotating 3 barrel assembly. I have done some test fitting and the pop rivets at the end stop the shells from falling out and creates a mechanical connection for added strength. Once I get some spray paint these bad boys will be getting a nice coat of flat black.

I SO copied your idea.......Only I made it slightly bigger out of 2" pvc. Cant wait to try some paintballs and a grenade. I made these to fit in my pod holders on my vest. I'm going to drill a small hole in the coupling so I can stick something in there and puncture the disk. I'm thinking I'll just use a bent piece of coat hanger until I find something better.

I didn't buy the foil tape. $15 for a 100' roll. I thought it would be cheaper. So for now i'm going to experiment with multiple layers of plastic bags. Eventually I'll just buy some tape. I'm going to see what else works. I might just buy a 2" union and use the ends of pop bottles in the future for more psi, but for now i will stick with the plastic bags.

I have to let it dry over night :(

This was a cool idea thanks.

yeah the reason I went with 1.25" PVC is because 1.25" couplings and caps fit in 2" PVC pretty good. Once you paint both the shell and the tube they fit perfectly.

bengal camo just for fun!

I had some left over crappy spray paint. I'll probably repaint this or just make another one.

It's kinda hard to see the two tone I need a darker shade of brown.

nice.. looks like you are painting yours as well... tonight so far I have painted the stock, the front trigger handle and the rotating tri-barrel assembly and a cartridge.

I like this concept and the nice three barrel design.
It's so simple (yet clever).
Nice vids too.
Now I'm thinking up a design that's a backwards version,
Where the whole shell will shoot out once the burst-disk (at the back) is punctured.
Thanks. 8)

Nice gaming setup! Dual monitors, Razer mouse+mousepad and logitech(??) keyboard. :D lol, getting back on topic thoug...
nice and simple gun! I cant wait to see a video w/ it completed though, because I'm not sure what part rotates, or what the purpose is of having rotating barrels if your just going to have to fill up each cartridge separately anyways. I don't think its just for asthetics by the look of that stock. :D :D
(just kidding)

Dual 19" Samsung Widescreens, Razor Death Adder Mouse, with razor Exactmat mousepad, Saitek Eclipse 2 Gaming Keyboard. As far as the internals...

Quad Core 6600 Overclocked to 3.6ghz.
ASUS P5e X38 Chipset Motherboard
4GB OCZ DDR2 PC2-9200 FlexXLC
EVGA 8800GT Video Card
750GB SATA HD
Case: Antec P180Black Case
GF bought all the parts and put it together. oh and on the table that is Crysis, COD4, Orange Box and BF2 Deluxe.

Back on topic... The wood there isnt the stock... thats the middle of the gun. The stock is a g36 stock. The barrels rotate because it is badass... enough said.

well guys I decided to add another coat the to tri barrel assembly and the cartridge and the coat went on extremely well and it looked pimp however my GF's stepdad came by and lifted the cardboard underneith my tribarrel assembly and catridge and messed up a lot of the paint... he then proceeded to move my cartridge along the metal rod used as the axel and scraped it up a little bit. My goal to finish it today will not be finished but I will try my best to get a lot of it done.

Other news: I just saved a bunch of money on my car insurance by switching to gieco.

@davidvaini:

After looking through your posts on this, I am very pleased with what you have developed. However, I have a question regarding the specs of the cartridge. Approximately how long are the cartridges you are using now when fully assembled and at what pressure does the foil burst at? Thanks.

Depending on the cartridge size I use the length of the cartridge varries.

For my tripple barrel gun I am using 1.25" Shells and the length of the pipe is 5 inches. Full assembled with the cap and coupling on they are about 7 inches long.

So with a 5 foot stick you could make 11 shells taking cutting error into consideration. If it was a perfect world you could get 12.

Tip when making one though, get the caps and the pipe first and make a bunch, then take all of your cut 5 inch lengths and try fitting couplings on them. Sometimes 1.25" couplings vary in size enough to make it almost impossible to take on and off. Get a good loose fitting one.

Oh and the aprox pressure that the tape can hold at 1.25" shells is around 60. Depending on how loose your coupling is you can add more layers.

Time to make some more cartridges!
