It shoots @ 100psi and i estimate that it will launch a marble almost 2 football fields
Probably closer to 100-120yards because of the short barrel.

I ran this gun in ggdt (totally guessing sizes by the pics) and got a range of 602 feet, or pretty much exactaly 2 football fields. Of course I could be way off on guessing my sizes.

My guesses:
3" x 16" chamber
1/2" x 16" barrel
flow coef of 20%

But when I change the barrel length to 48 inches, I get a range of 1131 feet. So yeah, put a longer barrel on there and get close to double the performance...

edit... P.S. how much would a marble weigh?

I got about the same. But taking personal experience into account, I don't see this going two football fields. Thinking about my above guesstimate, it's probably closer to 100-120m.

The short barrel is hampering performance hugely, no doubt is this cannon capable of the distance, but not with this barrel IMO.

regardless of performance, it probably sets a record for most use of string on a spudgun :D

Well how about that...I haven't noticed the string on the new pic until you mentioned it bigsauce. There was some guy who used twine string to "pop" open a pilot about a year ago...yes it was a disaster cannon.

Ummm Baggage, why don't you use a hose clamp?

Lol, the string was to cover up the ugly mangled piece of pvc inside it, there was tape behind it so it wasn't for support. But it was really getting annoying because the string would move and what-not. Any who, the newest support for the barrel is sambuca bottle caps ;D! What do you guys think looks better?

Well, the red caps sort of make it look like a tinker toy...I think I liked the string better... It would actually look a whole better if you would replace that chamber with pressure rated parts. Those flat end caps scare the daylights out of me.

lol, well i was gunna paint this one and move the trigger to the back, and the tank was so big because i thought i could get multiple shots out of it! But i have decided that im not putting anymore work into this cannon and im going to make a new one that shot tennis balls once i learn A) how to make a piston gun and B) how to get multiple shots out of one tank.
