Ok I don't doubt that a man was killed with a clean out cap, but probably because he didn't screw it on properly, pretty obvious to me that's the case there. I do however object to the idea that when properly implemented they will/might fail in even an advanced combustion. the weakness is the threading not being sealed tight enough which in a spray and pray is a very likely scenario, not so in a properly vented advanced.MrCrowley wrote:A man was killed when his cleanout cap blew off and hit him in the chest using a 'spray and pray' combustion IIRC. Yeah man cleanout caps are s*** they can break when you tighten them to much. I had a (plumbing) job where it took 5+ hours because a POS cleanout cap. I wouldn't trust it at all.
