Beautiful workmanship!

Range and accuracy?

Several hundreds of meters..and several meters off.. :D

Think of it as an old smoothbore blackpowder musket.

At close range it could probably kill a deer.
At longe range it could only kill a deer if I were aiming at a barndoor in the other direction.. :?

( maverick has expressed his fear of the topic being locked for this reference to hunting: note: I am against hunting, even when done correctly. Just trying to illustrate it's power compared to it's lack of accuracy in a funny way)

As this is still a build log:

I made a buttpad for it and decorated the foregrip...

More updates:
Added sling and finished front grip checkering.
Couldn't use the focus button as no flash means no picture at night...

Just to give you an idea:

That looks so nice. What are you using for the hammer valve and is there a spring and eq hole in your piston?

The hammer valve is one he made himself.

I presume you mean the QEV's piston, and yes. The spring is partly what gives the setup he is using the capability for multiple shots. Also I'm unsure as to whether there is an EQ hole... sorry.

Wrong
The spring enables it to be pressurised from the chamber.
The eq hole enables it to repeat.

For example. If I would loose the spring I'd have to keep the Barrel port closed with my thumb for two seconds for it to seal while pressurising.
After that everything is the same.

So yes..it has an eq hole..
But I think I've explained this in the very first post of this thread..

Like far cry's sig says:
R.t.m.f.t.b.y.m.f.p....
i have made the same boltaction but it goes in the other way
I have made things completely differently just like it also...

Putting these here because they're vaguely related and mostly for the benefit of Btb ;)

I recently had the pleasure of feasting my eyes on some genuine Girandoni air rifles while in Vienna, herewith some photos:

It looks good but I'm wondering how far can you get it to shoot? Like what ranges?

My pleasure, if you ever find yourself in Vienna do make sure to visit the arms and armour collection (Hofjagd und Rüstkammer) in the Hofburg, some amazing pieces - I'm just sorry my visit was hampered by a bored, tired and nagging ladyfriend, ah well. I might post more of these later. Detailed pneumatic mortar post to follow this evening :)

I actually asked about this, the best information I got was that it was a tool used during valve servicing.
