This is my first cannon, it is a very simple design consisting of 1 old fire extinguisher tank, 2 3/4" 90* elbows, 1 3/4" 6" long pipe, 1 3/4" t fitting, air compressor quick connect, 3 3/4" nipples, 1 modded 3/4" sprinkler valve, and 1 3/4 coupler fitted on a 3' long 3/4" pvc pipe for the barrel. The 1st pic is the base of the whole gun, very simple, the 2nd one is the recharge connector, the 3rd is the recharge quick connect to hook it up to the compressor. The 4th is the muzzle break i made for the barrel, that actually works! before i did this, it had a log of kick, and made a loud noise. now it sounds like a silenced gun, like the kind you see on tv, and has much less recoil now, and the rest are damage pics done with a paintball at 80-125 psi. It blasted through coke cans, and cut a bottle full of water in half. I love it! sorry about the size being too big, i dont know how to make them smaller. I would say its in the range of 375 to 400 fps if not faster

Eventhough the tank seems oddly placed, I imagine it is very well balanced like that. I like unconventional.


I remember the first time I cut up a can like that.( great exit hole!! )
Nothing can beat those first couple of shots.

If you want a real boost in power stick a QEV on it and crank up the pressure, looks like all the fittings before the valve are steel

Thank you! and actually, it is very well balanced. I can stick my finger between the solenoid hole, and the blowgun and lift it, and it balances right out. and fire extiguisher tanks make great air tanks I had no idea the fun (and power) of these things when i built this, and to think, all of this was done with nothing more then a paintball! imagine a marble of a steel ball My next project will be a compact paintball cannon with a QEV instead of a sprinkler valve. Hopefully i can put a stock and a breach loader on it.

By the way, it put a fist sized dent in a sheet of 2mm thick aluminum

Fire extinguisher FTW!! Years ago me and a budy made a simple mortor-like combustion with a fire extinguisher as the chamber. It was sweet! Nice cannon you got there. Can't wait to see your next ones =))

Nice job BA_Noob. One thing you could to make it a little more compact would be to effectively turn the sprinkler valve to the side at 45 degrees...this would allow you to shorted the air pipe in the rear U and fit the tanl a little more closely with everything else.

nice cannon, especially for a first. I would say you're underoptimistic on the fps though. 375-400 fps? My sprinkler valve gun does 270 at 55 psi. So at 125 I would hazard a guess of maybe 600? I'm shooting 1.5" sharpened wooden dowels wraped once or twice in duct tape. I'm guessing that weighs just a bit heavier than a paintball. So I would make a ballpark estimite of your gun doiny 500-600+ fps at 125 psi! Somebody who actually knows more physics could probobly give you a better estimite. Anyway, nice gun, congrats. I have a target Idea, It wouldnt work for paintballs, but for tougher ammo, try steel soup cans, like from campbells soup. I can penetrate both sides with a shapened dowel, I'm sure a ball bearing could do even more........hehe. Really nice gun though. However, one comment. Is that a husky blowgun valve? If so, I believe it is only rated to 90 psi, or at least mine is. Also, what is that sprinkler valve rated to?

Maverick94: Dispite husky blowgun's pressure ratings they have been used above 300psi without failure. The only part that could fail is the internals which wouldn't cause any shrapnel. If I had to take a guess I would say the sprinkler valve is rated to 150pi.


That's a great first gun. The only things that could be improved are the big gap in between the barrel and chamber and you could change the sprinkler valve to a QEV which would give you MOAR power!

sorry, I'm no expert on that kind of thing. I just was saying that Mine said the PR was 90 psi.

These are some damage videos i took, plus a balance test and sound test. All tests were done at 60psi, soon i will make one using 125psi
