so while i was waiting for some parts PLAUGE and my QEV+popoff and i was bored and that the hardware store so i desided to spend a little cash and make a little ball valve paintball plinker. this cost me like $25 (i already had the 3/4in ball valve) so i got what i paid for. but while at the hardware store again yesterday and saw some pvc unions. so after $15 and about 20minutes(that 20minuts included the trip to the store) i had a extremly powerful cannon now.

for a barrel i have 48inches of 1/2in sdr 13.5 and a chamber of 1 1/2in by 24in. to hold the burstdisks i have 2 sch80 3/4inch threaded and a 1/4inch ball valve to vent the piolet area
i use blue painters tape as a burst disk and on the chamber side burstdisk i also but in a layer of wax paper so add just a little strength it.
if fill the piolet area to 50psi and the rest of the gun to 80psi, this gives me a fire every time (almost. sometimes the tape is a little stronger and takes more pressure)

now the pics!

and the burst disk holder section

i know this is my first completed gun but i am calling it my third because it was started last

BTW at 80 psi it is too powerfull and bursts paintballs in the barrel. i am currently looking for some stronger ammo to shoot so if you have any suggestions they would be appeciated. and yes i have thought of potatoes

damage pics and a vid will come after i freeze some paintballs or find better ammo

UPGRADE:

yes i did upgrade this after only having it for 1 day.
i redid the burstdisk section to fix some leaks, make it more comfortable to hold, and made it safer

hmm.. interesting.

I'm not a fan of burst disks, but i'm liking this one.

Try batteries, rocks, marbles, etc. And maybe get some damage pics.

AA batteries fit perfectly in 1/2" PVC. rebar is nice too.

thanks for the ammo ideas. i will try some soon and post the results.

i am thinking of making a how to for this becuase it is extremly powerful and easy to build, not to mention cheap.

@thedeathofall
have you ever tried burstdisks? because they are FREAKING AMAZING! the reload speed is slow but the power is awesome. like i said in the OP it bursts paintballs at only 80psi. i am kind of scared to take it to 150psi...

@rp181
batteries, yes. rebar is probalby a no because it would be a little heavy

also ggdt says that if the paintball stayed intact that it could go 650fps+ at only 80psi

Try freezing the paintballs that should keep them intact. Try glass marbles used in slingshots they are a beautiful thing to shoot.

Just a paint job and your set
Also nice construction minimal staining = GOOD
-nicely done filling method and appears easy and fast to fill

nope i have never tried them. I know they are easy to make and all, but i just haven't ever felt the urge.

I like :D some damage pics would be appreciated :)

On a small side note, is PLAUGE an acronym? Because if you meant to say PLAGUE then the typo is really annoying to the eyes :roll:

like i said damage pics will come soon. stupid freezer can only freeze so fast

and crap... i have been spelling it wrong all this time...

150psi should prove to be quite intresting. not to mention extremly loud.
i have not tried firing without a barrel yet but i imagie it would be similar to my friends semi-advanced spray and pray (just a little higher pitched)

Freezing paintballs is a pointless endeavor, they don't get harder they get brittle. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yyXXXCC3B0E

I would try some dowel slugs.
