i got my meter installed but it wont fire, could be the lack of spud, could be the location of the sparker

yeah i have had that happen before, i found that my spark gaps were too far apart and wouldn't always arc when the chamber was filled, possibly too much fuel saturation?

well its a bbq lighter and i put it on the end cap so i could pull it if i want, thinking i might move to the camp lighter, sparks every time

yea the camp lighter never fails, if you do switch, make sure you put a good seal around the shaft of the lighter, because i have seen some cases where hot exhaust gases will come flooding out and scald peoples hands. Oh, and how are your wire leads arranged? do you have them hanging loose from the inside or hooked up to screws that go into the chamber?
