The PP water gun

I have been here a while and not submitted a gun,so i thought i needed to.My parents paid for this because it doubles as a school project,i did not pay for this myself but at the end of June when it is my birthday i am expecting to get lots of money and then i will make the best paintball gun this forum has seen!

Back to the gun,it is very simple,it has a pressure rated skrew on cap at the end so you can fill it with water and a bike tube valve at the TOP so no water can get in it.the chamber is 40mm pressure rated pvc(the whole gun is pressure rated)and it is about 60 cm long. the barrel and ball valve are 90* to the chamber so that all the water can be shot out.The nozzle can be unskewed and replaced with a different one at any time.the barrel is 20mm and i am going to replace it with a long one and fill my chamber with air so it can double as a spud gun and a water gun.

Our school project is about water pressure and crap like that so you can see why i made it.It took less than half an hours work and it was cheep.

I should be getting a pressure guage for it soon and i will put that on the top 'lid'.

I'm not quite shure about this paint ball plan.If I make my next sniper in to a paint ball gun...

When I made a water cannon used flexible aquarium tubing between the tank and the nozzle, I then slung the tank on my back and can walk around with it in a comfortable position. But it depends on what you do with the cannon.

remember i said that is is also for a school project.
AND
Rambo, you make your paintball gun so i have a standard to beat.
*edit*
crap this thing hurls water like 10 metres and i havent even made any adjustments,no pressure guage so it hasnt even been to 35 psi yet.

Check out my PB gun. It's friggin crazy. If you decide to make one use a different method other than a ball valve.

(It's painted now and looks a whole lot better)

One question Demon, how effective was the nozzle you have pictured? what sort of stream did it send out?
I am planning to build a new water cannon and I'm trying to figure out what would make the best nozzle.

ah,that is a good question, well the nozzle you see there dosnt make a very good stream ,it shoots water in a hard burst like if you try to put your thumb over a hose pipe,it shoots water like 10 metres and makes a big mess.
I still have to make different nozzles but i think you should try to burn a small hole in a end cap or something with a piece of hot wire. a small clean hole should get a steam effect,i am going to try that next.

Hmm, my last one had a barbed copper nipple on the end but this gave a very limited stream.

Maybe a caulking gun nozzle would work, it is conical so it benefits from the vern effect and you can cut a piece off the end of it to make the hole larger
