Unfortounately, I think I have found a flaw. The bold will be locked in the open position by the QC, and be allowed to move forward when the sleeve is actuated, as opposed to backward for a blowback.

I will go play in my basement and see what I can come up with.

Everything is working the way it should.. :roll:

You'll get it when I finish it tonight.
I will have to cut some of the grooves inside of the QD to have it disconnect smoother and add 1 or two extra rings to the spring.

Maybe it's just a little hard to get from a picture.
I know I have been staring at other people's pictures before thinking WTF??

I have tried it on the gun.
The bolt remains locked untill the sleeve is pushed back.

Right now it's hard to push back the sleeve while the bolt is under pressure ( while I'm pulling it) but my adaptations should make it open smoothly.

I can't believe I pulled this off so cleanly..
I will refine the connection between the connector-rod and the bolt release...but that boltlock is probably the most ingenius thing that ever " happened" to me... :roll:

I finally get it, I think! The female part is attached to the bolt!

I was thinking the male part was for some reason...

And to be honest, I haven't entered my basement since I posted that... :D

wow did something happen to the gas piston since the last video, cause it looks pretty stiff but in the last video that thing was moving pretty well,

traditionally I've thought that gas pistons in most spudguns would not have enough pressure, I mean we've had enough plenty of trouble with developing hammer valve blow-backs.

is the bolt lock made with some sort of quick disconect

that's how a snap valve works, does it have resetting problems, JSR said the key to making the popet type valve work was to have the port open when the piston was closed

Most people would have gone for a rotating bolt and toggle but noooo, Brian just has to be different :roll: brilliant idea though :)

HPA and a fast valve is what makes it work :)

It will work in that configuration if the piston is a relatively loose fit.

You've done a great job making everything look great and work great, guess you got lucky with a few bits and pieces that happened to be the right diameter/length/whatever but this is still one heck of a build.

As good as that sounds, it brings friction into play...at least I could not get my airsprung snapvalve to work properly.Too bad, it seemed ideal in theory.

It has a pretty beefy spring..plus I needed to knock open the lock, while holding a camera.And I just had an accident a week ago injuring my left schoulder and forearm...You should be thankful I'm a crowdpleaser..

The crucial point is as follows, if the piston seals over the exhaust port and needs to travel further to reach the seat and reseal the valve, it will never reseal because incoming pressure will push it back et voila, une machine flatulences :roll: However if your piston is not airtight, air can still flow past it into the exhaust port as it's returning at it will "pop" as long as air is supplied to the chamber.

In the case of this valve for example, the piston is not airtight so port position was not as critical:

HA,HA,HA,HA this thing is fucking awesome!!!, looks great and sounds mean as hell,I expect performance will be something to marvel at!?.

If I understood how it worked, Id start on one myself :roll: im too retarded to work it out even with all the info provided, I'll keep looking until I understand!.I allways have problems here sourcing up matching parts for construction of Airguns though ie Barrel to Ammo, Sleeves to O- rings etc hooray for Australia.

Anyways mate great work, I love it........

I have to try make me one of those snap valves. Bought some hydraulic fittings pretty cheap today, hopefully they will come in handy. Heard about a deal for a big CO2 tank as well I might take up (tank holds 6kg of CO2, tank, adapter and regulator for $200 and refills $10).

Hope you're not too busy over the weekend, would be good to see some more progress on this gun ASAP :P

Morning spudders,

Love the use of the quick release Brian, I've tried for a long time to design a simple latching but also easily opened bolt.

Something off the shelf is far easier to get installed and if it wears out you're not spent hours building a new latching mechanism.

Especially pleased because it doesn't have to bash against the main body of the cannon to lock or release because if damage or wear starts affecting it, the body is more of a pain to replace than a self contained bolt unit.
