Golfball hand cannon

Hi, nothing special here, just an ordinary "sawn-off" pneumatic :D

- Valve is 1",BUSCHJOST, 24v Indirectly solenoid actuated Diaphragm valve (http://www.buschjost.com/pdf/E82860.pdf) ..it works just like QEV, no need to mod that valve, it has "build in" pilot valve !

- chamber is made from old carbon dioxide bottle
- golfball barrel
- battery box is welded from 6mm PE-plastic and it contains 2x12v(=24v) lead acid batterys.
- working trigger, I love it !
- I use it with compressor, so max pressure is 8bar.. no need to get higher, this was made for fun shooting, not for power.

..I made it in two weekends from parts that I had left over from previous cannons :D

That is a nice compact cannon, hwever it looks very heavy. 2 or 3 9V batteries could be used to activate the valve. The 9V batteries would be lighter and moe compact. What kind of range do you get out of it?

I agree with metalmeltr, you could use some lighter batteries. :)

Other than that, it looks good. What pressure do you run it at?

I like the look of this. Some 9 volts would possibly fit nicely in the gap between the barrel in the chamber.

Or a blowgun, that will save you the batteries :) at 8 bar it will be more than adequate.

How did you modify the co2 bottle for the 1" porting? Is that welded? I've been wanting to use a repurposed high pressure tank as the chamber on my next build, but the tanks most easily available to me have threads smaller than I'd like and I'm not sure I have the resources for metal work. I know others have repurposed propane tanks (I think there's even a how-to for 14.1oz propane tanks, but still with a small porting).

If you want more power, you could make a longer barrel.
It will be more silent tough .

happy me
Me too!!

:D
Let's say I like your style!

In stead of the solenoid valve and batteries, a blowgun via a small QEv would be a good idea to pilot it...

Lovely sawed-off!!!

Its welded..there is 1" hydraulic fitting welded to the chamber

Thanks btb, it pilotes fast with solenoid and I dont want to modify that valve because I might need it somewhere else.. I have some qevs,so if i want i can use one for main valve and then i dont need to mod that solenoid thing. batteries weight doesent matter to me, and the battery case makes a nice stand for the cannon :D
