Just a quick mashup of random unused parts. Basicly it's a 1/2 QEV piloted with a 1/4 blowgun, chamber is 22mm copper and the barrel is 6mm alluminium sleeved inside 15mm copper piping
The shot done was at around 100 psi and i have yet to crank up the pressure.

Unfortunatly there is only a video because photobucket dosen't accept pictures from my camcorder.

The pellets are modified slightly so that the fit the 6mm barrel perfectly.
Velocity? i don't realy know but i'm guessing somewhere in the high 400s low 500s.

Hmmm, 300psi anyone?

Looks good, and yes you need to crank up the pressure :)

Given the fact that you're using barracuda heavies, I would say velocity is more likely in the 200-300 fps range.

Nah, much higher than that, i can tell just by shooting it into the air. Maybe 490 then.

Who needs a chronograph eh?

My 14 ft/lbs Air Arms S410 could only do 300 fps tops with heavy pellets, and that's from a 3,000 psi fill...

Not me.... nah but i can see it shoot of into the distance and it's much faster comparing it my cheapo airsoft pistol (200fps with .12g bbs)

And 300 fps? Seriously? TBH thats terrible but i suppose hammer valve guns realease a short burst of air and are designed to shoot lighweight target pellets.

And please don't show me a link of the Airforce Condor...

Just ordered a tin of 13.3g bisley target pellets.

Your 0.12g BBs have a horrible ballistic coefficient compared to heavy pellets, so really what you're seeing is that your pellets *slow down* much quicker than the BBs. If you can see the pellet, it's clearly not moving that fast anyway ;)

Not neccasserily(SP?) looking right down the barrel you can see things going actually quite fast.

Fair enough, I could see 0.22" pellets at 550 fps on a sunny day down the scope, but anyway without chrony results this discussion is moot.

Ok, lets end about this fps thing....... 500 fps +-50fps

How about "I have absolutely no idea what velocity my projectiles are travelling at, and without actual chronograph results any figures I give are pure speculation" ;)

Tell you what - shoot at a soup tin, see what penetration you get. I have the same pellets, we can do a comparative test in terms of penetration, and see how it relates to velocity ;)

Done that. Straight through.

Steel soup tin, not aluminium soda can, right?

As soon as I have batteries for my chrony I'll let you know ;)
