The chamber is 24 inches of 3 inch PVC and the barrel is 28 inches or 1½ PVC. Originally I tapped the Schrader valve to be 1/8 but since I drill out the hole too big, I retapped it for a Schrader with ¼ threads. The coupling on the end of the chamber is DWV, but I expect it to hold up to 90 PSI which is the limit that I'm setting for this cannon's operation. The valve is a one inch Rainbird valve, actuated by a ¼ ball valve.

I made the mistake of getting too overanxious with this gun, and tried it after only an hour's cure time at 40 PSI, resulting in the back elbow assembly blowing off. I don't plan to shoot it untill tommorow when the glue is fully cured. Hopefully this thing should be able to blast a spud out of sight... at least untill i get my 1.5 inch metal stock.

Haven't been able to get many range shots, seeing as I live in the city. But it will split a 1/2 inch piece of plywood clear in half.

nice cannon drac, ive pushed 120 psi (rather unsafe) with a DWV endcap with no problem, im sure as long as you dont drop it on concrete you'll be fine. Have you plugged in the #'s in GGDT?

is that a rainbird sprinkler valve? oh and one more question, why did ya use a ball valve instead of a blowgun?

really clean looking cannon though, not too many ppl use dyed primer and make it look that clean, especially on the 1" pieces.

To help avoid those unsightly primer stains just use Q-Tips instead of that goofy brush they give you with the can. You can also make a swab for the larger parts that will work as well. Otherwise might just prime the whole gun. Hmmmmmmmmmm. Maybe a thought.

he's right, and from MY experience, DWV is just fine when most of it is sleeving pressure rated pipe.
i wouldn't recommend using that high of pressure thought just keep it at or below 100 and you'll be fine (just a precaution). My first pneumatic had DWV street elbows in it and i filled the gun up to 110 psi more times than i could count (and i can count pretty high lol). Unless i was being protected by supernatural forces, the dwv worked just fine for me. It also helps to keep your guns indoors so that the piping won't be exposed to the wind and weather.

IMO... DWV is just a rating company's give to the pipe to "cover their asses"... It's most likely to hold up, but I could possibly break... and since it's DWV the company with just say... I told you so

Their is an exception here though... don't use DWV PIPE with 100 psi, but most of the time the fittings work fine

If I recall correctly, someone on Spudtech painted their whole gun in primer.. It looked quite nice actually.

I haven't plugged it into GGDT as of yet, with exams coming up i've been pressed for time.

it just an elbow

It's actually a street elbow.

The male part is threaded into the valve, and there is a nipple connecting the female part to the ball valve.
