Hello there, folks.

My name's Josh, and I can't believe I'm just discovering this forum now...

Pleasure to make your various acquaintances. My friends and I have fun with spud cannons, sometimes loaded with spuds, sometimes loaded with not-spuds. We only started recording it fairly recently, but I hope you guys enjoy some of our hijinx as much as I've enjoyed what I've seen of yours thus far.

Next, broomstick boomstick.

If you've got an HD monitor, this one is pretty. If not... I hope you can see it? We filled the cannon with glowsticks to make fireworks sans-fire.

Again, nice to meet you all, and I think I'll end on a question:

What's the dumbest thing you've launched out of your cannon?

[edit] To add the "four thick glow sticks" air cannon video to the top, here:

Edit by Moderator (MrCrowley): Sorry, but I had to remove the knife thing. I feel a warning message may not have been adequate enough to deter some less mature spudders from copying you guys.

Hi.

Rule #2 of this forum is available here
Discussion of shooting anything at any person and/or animal is prohibited, and may result in a permanent banning of your account.
Aside from that, enjoy the forum :)

I did see that, but I actually figured the helmet made it an exception... but after half a second's thought, I see that it isn't, so removed.

The removed one is a potato to the head - while wearing an incredibly strong helmet. But it's gone now. I do actually think the knife one is OK? Because it's not "at" a people? More up in the air, with people running under the projectile.

/edit Thanks for the correction, by the by.

Reminds me, worst thing I've ever launched from a cannon was the barrel.

Yeah, teach me to secure it properly before firing.

Aside from anything else the section where it disconnected was a few centimetres from my ear (its the top one in my signature, fired from the shoulder) so that's more or less where the high pressure air blast came out. Had hearing issues for at least half an hour after :?

I'll pass on the knife one, a mod might clarify if they feel its needed.

The barrel! Nice... Haven't had that happen to us, but I can see it...

Yeah, actually, if a mod considers the knife video to be a no-no, please remove it, or ask me to and I'd gladly do it myself. Not trying to skirt any rules, I just legitimately think the circumstance of this particular shoot are clearly NOT us actually shooting AT people, despite the title I gave it to help it's SEO.

If you saw the 30 other takes before we started actually catching them, the cannon launching at 10-20 PSI at a mortar-trajectory gives us plenty of time to get out of the way... Which we did, a lot. More often than not, in fact. Just doesn't make for a great video.

Love the warning label on the chamber :D But... It should say 30 psi max. Those reducers probably aren't pressure rated. You guys are entertaining :P

I once shot a barrel full of water probably had 1.2l in it, tank charged to 300psi and to top it off i was still in a back brace from having a spinal fusion(t4 to l1), it knocked me over and hurt like hell, lucky the docs gave me some really good pain meds.

If you're this dangerous with a simple ball valve cannon, looking forward to what you will come up with after scraping this forum for knowledge, welcome to spudfiles :D

McCrowley: No problem, I understand. I do have a habit of making these things look non-lethal.

Jack: I'm taking that as a high compliment. :D Yeah, I wasn't aware some of this stuff had been done at all, little-less peer-reviewed on a mass-scale... I feel quite at home.

And thanks for all the welcomes and kind words.

welcome to the forum! but ur reducers arent rated... doesent matter though as long as you keep it below 80 psi
the dumbest thing has to be a tie between a sharpened piece of 3/4 inch pipe and a c battery that ricocheted and broke my window :)
