My dad started this project as a challenge from his brother. It's a pneumatic gun that uses 100 psi to launch spuds and anything else...

I think he used this site so I thought I'd post this video for him.

It looks like YouTube is down/having problems so it may not work tonight... It's working on my iPad though so hopefully it'll process through soon.

Edit: I can answer questions if you have them, may not know all the specifics but can get the information.

Its not that powerful however it is very very clean and has a great paintjob. I also love the carrying case. Cool video too. Thanks for posting it.

launches spuds a good 300-400 meters, measured by Americans who don't use the metric system
:D

Nice one, especially the look on Grandma's face :)

That's an inch and a half, not 1 inch. :P

Also, it might not be the "coolest potato gun ever", but it certainly looks really nicely painted, and well-stored! I also really like the extension put on there to contain the breech cutter on the barrel.

Suggestion: To make the 2" barrel more efficient, you should adapt it down to 1" female threads and screw it right onto that metal pipe nipple after the sprinkler valve to keep dead space to a minimum.

Thanks for the suggestion, I know he wants to keep playing with the design so I'll let him know about it!

You should make one of your own so you each have one. He did do a really good job on that one though. You can tell he really planned it out and took his time.

That thing is pretty awesome. The only problem I see on it is the bell reducer . Just remember bell reducers aren't pressure rated so don't take up to that high of pressures.

Good point, I think the best compressor he has will only go to 120ish so he isn't pushing too far, I like the idea of cutting it out though. Next design. Maybe add multiple barrels too :)

They do make pressure rated one too.

That's well and truly pushing is i wouldn't go passed 70 even there its dangerous because if you drop it BOOM.
