ok then here it is i have dreamed of making a fully automatic type big bore airgun for many years this is my first auto bigbore prototype the stock was lovingly thrown together as quickly as possible for low pressure testing and will be lovingly thrown away when the tape leaves and is replaced with epoxy and fiberglass at the moment i am running the setup on 120psi off a standard blowgun valve i have not made up my mind on what kind of valve i will use when i make the jump to 2000psi but ill cross that bridge when i get to it

Specs

barrel
50cal 6061 aluminum 42in

magazine is made out of a 6061 aluminum racing ski pole

as far as when i go high pressure i was thinking maybe a pressure washer valve any ideas on what i could use would be awesome

also something i want to add before i make the jump to high pressure is a single shot mode i have my own setup ready for that but any ideas are welcome and just incase you cant tell from the pics it is a basic gravity feed setup one step closer to the dream of making a 50cal vortex block :D

Are you using a detent of some sort to allow pressure buildup before each shot? Does wonders for power.

Here's something vaguely similar I had been playing with (before I discovered hybrids  ): http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/9mm-smg ... 19367.html

no currently i am not that is part of the reason im using a 42 inch barrel im going to post a video tomorrow of some low pressure tests if all goes well i will be moving on to stage two prepping it for higher pressure and im sure modification will insue shortly there after but i have to say im already impressed by the damage it can do with tape seals at 120psi i cant wait to crank up the pressure i will draw up some plans for a simple detent but i am planning on keeping the LS50 as basic and simplistic as possible its going to be a test bed for higher pressure projects to come in the future

edit:
yeah i think im going to pass on the detent for now mainly because i figure im already rolling the dice on the thing blowing up in my face when i go to high power tests if it survives that then i might put one in how long do you think a rubber detent would last at 1000+psi anyways?

edit:
heres a video shooting a watermellon at 100psi im not sure if i need to clean up the feeding system abit or if i need better ammo ill figure it out

Looking good, HPA will absolutely murder that melon.

Could you post some pictures of your actual valve-trigger setup and how it's all held together?

You don't want something like this happening...

Epoxy done well can take a lot of pressure, epoxy done badly on the other hand...

As to detents, have a look at this thread, there are various alternatives:

I posted a scetch and a pic showing what im planning for the action.
I am planning on using a pressure washer valve like this one.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/3800-Psi-Max-an ... 2316333fe7

I do not have it yet and high pressure testing will be done without the valve by more primitive methods but will work just the same.

Any ideas on a better way to setup a single shot mode is welcome.

But im looking for simple I am tired of over complicated high pressure bombs.

If you have a good look around ebay you can get a pressure washer handle for a bit less.

With a detent you can usually "time" a single shot by just pressing lightly on the trigger.

yes i understand that but i also want to be able to run darts and such for um err those pesky soda bottles flying around my yard. its just a option i want for having a full magazine and a dart in the chamber. Plus its brutaly simple :D
