Been there....
I went to show a gun I made to a friend of mine.It was a 10(-ish) mm copper barrel sealing tee valve.I put a silencer on the barrel and another one on the excaust valve( blowgun)
All you would hear was "SSHHH-p"
I fabricated a dart out of 8.8mm steel rod( turning it into a sharp point in my drill by filing it) and some 10 mm aluminium pipe.

My friend was like: Oh just aim at my garage"

Then came the SSHH...p!
And the dart rolled back towards my friend.
He was like...."That's it??"

Turned out the dart went through the side wall, hit the second wall sideways( making a DEEP imprint) and THEN it rolled out of the garage towards my friend.

Kinda funny, it was really silent. When we saw it just nearly missed his "state of the art" moped, he got pissed....
I'm into guns, he's into restoring and pimping out mopeds.
My hobby nearly destroyed his hehehe

Whoa, that just gave me enough motivation to build a pneumatic cannon(currently i only have a regular combustion one that sounds like a 12 gauge).

now how much did that one cost u?

It cost my brother a little over 100 euro's.
I just came cack from a shooting "session"

This thing is truly another level...
We tried it up to 100 psi or 7 bar...with another 1.20 meter barrel extension. And it scared the crap out of us...
We were at a lake, with nobody around exept a fisherman about 100 meters away.
I fired it, the recoil felt like somebody kicking me in the leg( I know, I'm a bouncer!)
Then the BANG, followed by a loud ( panic) WOW!! from the fisherman.THe patato hissed through the air with a high piched sound wich was audible until the patatoe went invisible.Wich was in half a second LITTERALLY!
We decided it was time to go, since this thing is illegal in Holland.
We walked back to the car, got in, drove off.

THe road to the lake is pretty long, and has no other exits.THen we saw a cop -car coming from the other side!!
Since this road only leads to the lake, we knew he came for us!!

Thank God my brother has a car that looks like your grandma would drive it.
He drove past us towards the lake.Guess the fisherman had a cellphone...

LMFAO, im just lucky to live in NZ where 95% of the population lives within 30min of the beach :D a cove is the best place to fire as no one goes there, well to the one i use anyway but once upon a time me and my friend were shooting it out to the 200m buoy in the water when a ARMY dinghy/patrol boat came whizzing past the cove me and my friend dove behind some rocks and ran for it. We think they were on a beach patrol or something they were all dressed up and in this camo inflateable(sp?) boat.

Pressure rating pipes with the same schedule varies with diameter, so a direct comparison is impossible between the systems, but 4" sch 40 pipe is rated to 220 psi.

De site die je moet hebben in Nederland is http://www.bouwplastics.nl
Ik weet niet of ze het versturen naar België, maar hun winkel zit bij mij om de hoek in Den Haag
.

I love writing in Dutch to piss you guys off hahaha
Anyway...just plain gray isn't much of a "scheme".
I'm glad we don't have the white stuff here. And no confusing "schedule" either.
It's just PN16 meaning it's rated up to 16 bar (250 PSI).PN simply means Pressure Number.

And no, Spudstuff... it's not designed after any of the sloppy BC vids!!!
BTW...if we have different materials here...then how am I supposed to know if it's equivelant to sch 80???Never seen that in my life!!

It's like me asking you if PN16 is like sch 80 over in the states...
Well...is it??
um no, PN 18 is pretty much SCH80. Plus pipe is measured at a safety 3x mix, That means that your pipe of 250 psi is rated to about 1000.

750psi, and isnt PN16 around about 224psi not 250psi :D
and i wouldnt trust that 3x mix 1 in 500 pieces of pipe manufactuared pressure rating is half of what it says.or something along those lines.
i would trust the mix around 1.5x but if it blows you cant sue them.

and brian why do you keep saying PN16 all pressure fittings ive seen are PN18 apart from pipe which is usally PN12 here.

My mums dutch! And about 2 years ago i built a cousin in Olmelo a combustion spudgun. Now thats out of the way. They might have a high PN rating of 16 they are in Europe thats quite far away. The highest PN piping i have seen is PN20 but i havent seen any fittings for it.I love this gun looks like my cannon but way cleaner, hats go off to you.By the way does the name sam tex have anything to do wihtt he explosive semtex? As in the power equivalent semtex is powerful explosive so why not name the cannon after it?Or am i way off?

I keep saying PN 16 because the cannon is made out of PN 16.
So to put it another way...PN16 is..well PN16 wich can be best compared to PN16 and we al know that PN 16 stands for Pressure Number 16 meaning PN16 is rated to 16 bar.....

that is why I KEEP saying PN16 and not PN 18...
If the gun was made up of PN18 and PN 12 parts I WOULD SAY SO!!
The gun was not made by parts seen by you..or anyone else...they don't come from the same store or even country. My neighbour has a moustache...so why doesn't yours???

Pfjeeww..had to get that off my chest..
About Sam tex..he kinda hates taxes, traffic jams...police fines...and he always claims all of those could(I stress "could") be solved by a simple solution...

We have taken up the plan of building a new chappy and getting it a 90mm ( outside diameter) barrel and shooting jeu des petanque balls (called boules in French)

quote:

"The boules are made of metal and weigh between 650 g and 800 g, with a diameter of between 71 mm and 80 mm"

Check them out here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pétanque

With it's large bore I suggest we call it U.D.U.
Ultimate Destruction Unit...

nobody does damage like UDU!!

May I ask why you call the gun chappy?

It is a word an English gentleman would use for a friend.

"old Chap"

it's like "say hello to my little friend!!" I guess
