The Cheap One

Here's my first pneumatic gun. It has a 40" 1.5" chamber. I have a Lawn Genie Model 54004 on it right now, unmodded. I know I need to mod it, but I'm waiting for the cash to come in. Right now, I use either the 1" barrel for potatos or batteries, or the 1/2" barrel for marbles. This thing can shoot just as far, if not farther than my combustion. (Modeled after the Green Hornet for AdvancedSpuds with a few differences) I had most of the pipe, so the whole gun, including the sprinkler valve cost under $20. I know the marble barrel is short and bent, but the lady gave me 6.5ft and I could only salvage around 5ft, it was bent so bad. Included are some damage pics with a Fisher Price picnic table. First shot was just a potato from the 1", and second is with a marble in the 1/2". Both were with 90 psi.Image

This is a good first Cannon. I like the way you did the trigering inside a pipe instead of a project box. Are the batteries in the fish food thing. It looks very ghetto. Word 8)

Yeah, just ghetto rigged it till it's modded.
Batteries are in the yellow container- 3 9v's.

Good job.
Man I bet those marble get going fast in 5ft of barrel. You should paint fish on it and give it a name.

what psi do you use,

If the pipe is rated 180psi, how many can you fit in there safely.

very nice gun ,very clean but for the next one you make you should change the chamber to barrel ratio, in a pnumatic a good c:b ratio is anything from 2:1 to 4:1, of course a little overkill never hurt

give it a barrel support, it looks like it might crack off any second.

you do know that modding it costs no money at all right?

Besides the blow gun, the air hose, hose clamps and various nipples and brass fittings, sure it costs no money at all!

all you need is a blow gun or a 1/4 inch ball valve.
