Cannon in progress.

this is my cannon in progress. I am waiting on 2 sprinkler valves to come in the mail. I will rig both valves up together and run them to a blow gun. I didnt care about primer stains because i plan on painting it so i went a little excessive, well maby alot excessive lol. i will put 90degree bend joints (or whatever there called) in front of where the valves are going to go so its not so wide. It should be done in like a week when my valves come in the mail.

chamber is 3" pipe reduced to 1" for sprinkler valves then increased to 2" where the valves meet at the T. barrel is 2" but i put male threads on it so i can change barrels later on.


Im not sure how powerfull it will be so if you have one like this can you tell me so i have an idea because im excited and cant wait to find out for myself. (hurry up UPS!!!)

You'll have a bit of dead space and can a blow gun acuate to sprinkler valves at the same time? You may have to use a ball valve.
Other then that nice cannon :P

Ball valve? I thought those were slower.

Im saying you may have to use a ball valve to acuate the sprinkler valve instead of the blow gun as the blow gun might not have enough flow. A ball valve is better then a blow gun when acuating a sprinkler but most prefer a blow gun as they have a trigger and are easier to open.

OH NO. The bell reducers you used are not pressure rated. But nice work.
i heard someone say this about another guys cannon and im using the same bell reducers as he was. what pressure will be safe to go two before it blows off? i would just cutt them off but I would have to remake the whole part and thats money i dont have.

Well people have taken DWV like it to 120psi, I would feel safe at 80-90psi if you have glued this correctly. There is no set pressure when they will blow off, so be careful.

Edit:most people would think 60psi is safe, but DWV is not good to use in pneumatics so its all down to you really.

There's also DWV elbows, I'd worry about those more.

Hay, hay, hay, (is that copyrighted?) what if you routed the exhaust from the valves into the dead area, I know this has been talked about before but maybe you should do that, not sure if it’ll improve anything but at lest you won’t be wasting air! (That sounded “left”…)

hmm, no i think there schedule40 elbows. i could of sworn the box they were in said they were.

The elbow's on mine are sch80, thats all they had, ok by me. Pimpmann is the one who filled me in on the socket depth of the bell reducers. You probly read that in the thread on my cannon.

Isnt Sch40 just the thickness?
