i love the piston setup, but i bet you could reduce the recoil of the gun by having it flip up to parallel the chamber and barrel in over/under style, so the piston is firing the same direction as the golf ball, and by reducing recoil you can probably help preserve the life of the gun, and reduce potential risks and misfires.

Clide, completely reworking and putting in linkages etc. may be the next step, but you sure took a H***uva first step.

I'm doing mindwork on a smaller steel version of the HEAR valve.
I like the o-rings, but in need of a lathe, I am going in the direction of more flappy valving. Something kitchentable-ish.

Aiming for a .177/.22 pellet chucker, I might start somewhere in the middle.
I've always liked the idea of self-stabilized projectiles (fins or weight differences). Lead-tipped cardboard tubes?

Anyway, first thing is the valve.

Good luck with your further projects!

outstanding gun
just one question how does the ball stop work
could someone please explain

It stops the ball. There is a little lip or bit of friction or something. Use your imagination.

The ball stop is just a piece of hanger wire that extends into the barrel. It interferes with the ball so it can't roll forward. When the bolt moves forward the wedge shape allows the bolt to push it down and out of the way. That little red piece in the animation represents the actual ball stop fairly accurately.

I've looked into this, and have come to realize that this is the most efficient valve on the website (so far as i can tell), at least for semi-automatic. I have been working on a design for a semi-auto airsoft gun for some time now. I know there are diagrams up, but I'm not sure I understand them.

Q1: If the trigger is held down, is it fully automatic?

Q2: How exactly does the trigger work?

A2: IIRC, the trigger is just a sear.

Yeah, it is. He said the only thing keeping it semi-auto was trigger discipline.

Every bloody time someone links to an old topic someone has to post in it.

Check the dates and spudfiles does not allow/condone asking for plans rather let you do your homework and find out for youself.

You would of found that site yourself had you of searched.
