i built a small inexpensive pnumatic and fired water out of it while holding it about six inches off the ground.
the kick was so enormas that the gun slamed into the ground and destroyed itself

Very cool gun. I'm looking to build a metal gun myself. Great stuff to look at for ideas.

I fire water filled Oasis Bottles out of my TB Launcher, they'll break a 1" piece of plywood into many pieces.

I shoot water out of my 1.5" GB Barrel @ 40 psi and it doesn't have much more of a kick than with a golfball, I mean it is noticeable, but not enough to leave a bruise, maybe I should try 100 psi, but I gotta wait til spring to do that unless I use warm water to keep the pvc warm while I go outside.
Yea, that's definitely going to get you at least a tazer.

That thing must be heavy.....You should think of different ways of lighting it up a bit.....For the chamber you could use sch 80 pvc pipe, you can get at plumbingsupply.com they will also thread it for you.....you can still use galvinized fittings on it....The valve is cool...For the barrel you could use brass pipe nipples custom long...that can also be obtained at the web site ...Its a littel pricey but it should work perfect....Its a hair lighter and its seamless and perfectly smooth on the inside.....I have tryed galvinized pipe for a barrel before but all the pipe I see has a seam or is bumpy on the inside...You could also try to find t6 aluminum alloy pipe for the chamber....I would tell you where to get it but people will think Im trying to promote the site or I work for the site...Just search the internet for it you should be able to find it....Otherwise nice gun... :salute:

haha. firing heavy things is fun.......

like when i found a 5lb hunk of steel that fit in my shoulder-fired piston valved cannon (too bad this broke it).

it was the middle of summer, and i simply pumped it up to full pressure (125 psi) slipped the hunk of steel down it, put it on my shoulder, and fired. next thing i knew i was on the ground and my cannon was in a few peices.......

the hunk of steel did some insane damage though. gah i wished my friends lived near me so i could have gotten a video, it was proboably the funniest thing ever to watch.

also, to make this post relevant, that valve is most liklely rated for more than 150 PSI. i know most QEV's can take 250, i think Ragnrock has taken them to higher.......
