Here is my best cannon, enjoy, and as always, be safe! It requires a 1 inch inline sprinkler valve. I left mine unmodified, because I wanted to add an electrical safety to the cannon. You will need several feet of I and 2 inch pipe, and about 3 feet of 3 inch. The idea came from the Pneumatic Sniper Cannon, but I made it more powerful and then kinda got carried away…

Construction

Chamber: The chamber is 22 inches of 3 inch PVC, with a cap on one end, and reducers that take it down to a one inch male thread on the other. It has a Schrader valve, a 125 PSI pop-off, and a pressure gauge.
Stock: This is to toughest part to build, it may be big for some to hold, but it is designed to fit the size of a 6 foot tall person.

Golf ball barrel and “clip”: This was the worst part about building the cannon! Blood sweat and tears went into it… (No, not really; I am a big complainer)

Here is a rough description: The barrel is sleeved 2 inch pipe. On one end it has reducers to bring the internal bore down to 1 inch, and to allow for threading directly into the sprinkler valve. The “clip” is a length of non-sleeved 2 inch pipe with a cap on one end, and male threads on the other. This piece is filled with golf balls. It threads into a 2 inch testing tee. The tee is on the barrel towards the end. The internal layer runs through the tee, and the tee separates the external layer; the long part of the barrel from the part just by the reducers. Inside the tee, the internal layer is cut, to allow a ball to pass into it from the clip.

When loading, the tee and clip sub-assembly is rotated so that the hole is in line with the clip. When firing, the tee is rotated the opposite way so that the backside of the internal barrel layer seals off the tee. All parts were grounded down a bit, to allow for freer rotation.

Main Assembly
Buy some hose clamps and fabricate a small wooden spacer.

Electrics : They're the same as the ones on the Pneumatic Sniper Rifle.

This cannon is really powerful. It put a hole through a .75 inch piece of plywood (not pressboard), at 80 feet, and at 80 PSI.

Due to my busy schedule I have not been able to thoroughly test it. Hopefully, I will have chronograph data soon.

hmmm, I like it but I think that you should have used a moddified sprinkler valve and you also should have not made the air pressure go through the stock, it slows it down so much that you will not believe!!!!!

Maybe you could add a silencer? or at least something that looked like one, it would add a nice touch to it

IT looks really cool how you made the tubing into the stock, but it looks reall nice. I agree w/ killer that it does slow it down. and a modded sprinler valve would help alot, but it is up to you.

can u people explain, why would the stock be so bad? it wont constrict flow and is a part of the chamber so it is not dead space, and it is just as safe as the rest of the gun... sure that there r more turns but seeing how there is less resitance, that shouldnt be a problem.

Air is a fluid, and every time that a fluid changes direction, it looses speed. So that's why you put stoppers in the stocks, to make the air go through less turns and loose less speed. Less speed=less power.

I agree with drac nice way to explane it aswell..and i would go for the sprinkler mod does help alot with power from the electric standard ones i recently went from a ball valve to electric and then found out about moding and now it has a heap more power.

about how much would this cost to make i already have 3" pipe and i dont want a bipod.

Is the valve smaller than the barrel? doesn't that slow down the air much more than the stock?

the 1inch sprinkler valve has about a 3/4 inch flow so the valve dose slow the flow

uhhhh... do u have ot make it electronicly activateted or can u just use a normal sprinkler valve that u push a metal piece on?... anyways it looks really cool... 8)

that is a normal sprinkler valve,that is how you get them. If you read the forum rules you will see that it says 'dont post in big annoying letters' or somthing like that ,the red also makes moderators very angry (like bulls and the guys that have red flags) so if you value your life ,dont make that a habbit.
