This is my new co-axle piston gun i made mainly from Polly pipe but some peices are brass. one day on these long and boring hollidays i found i had a 1"-1/2" fiting that was threaded all the way through so i could screw on my barrel backwards and i thought OMFG i can make a piston so it took me about 3 days till i had it finished and fully operational.Although it can only shoot through 10mm plaster board :( i dont know why....

here it is :D

Try increasing your pilot valve for more performance. Looks like a nice gun.

Looks like a nice coax you got there. The grip seems really uncomfortable to hold but still looks good.

McCrowley, INcreasing the pilot makes for slower air exhaustion, thus slower opening times/worse performance.

Decrease your pilot and it will open faster.

What pressure are you shooting with?

im shooting at 100psi. and the handle is acatually comfortable because you hold it just like a pistol grip.

@ Mr.crowley what do you sugest for the pilot?

Infernal, he means increasing the pilot valve, not the pilot volume. A bigger valve will vent faster and improve performance. That looks like a fun little gun you have there.

MrCrowley meant increase the size of the pilot valve to vent the pilot volume faster, not increase the amount of pilot volume.

@wannabie,
The higher-flow your pilot valve, the faster it will open your main valve, and the more power you'll get.
QEV's, pistons, and modified sprinklers are the "best" pilot valves, but are probably overkill for a gun this small.

Personally, I'd fully mod a blowgun (read around here...) or just use a ball valve (like a 1/2").

Peace,
Pete Zaria.

Oh ok thanks, guess I just read it wrong.

Yeah, adding a bigger pilot valve would help performance a lot. A bigger ball valve or a modded blow gun would work well.

Can you, or have you taken the gun to 150PSI? At that pressure the gun would be way more powerful.

thanks guys i might try it woth a 1/2" ball valve and i could take it to 150 psi but i cbf pumping it that high

I would say a 1/2" ball valve would be your best bet/

Looks good, well done. I'd also say a 1/2" ball valve would work well.
Are you using a bike pump to fill it?

Thats a really nice gun. With a decent pilot vent valve, it'll be an absolute animal.

@ spud yeti yes im using a bike pump to fill it.

and i have added a 1/2" ball valve but it hasnt seemed to make any diffeerence any idea's why?

Nice set up,poly all the way,it's good stuff with it's 16 bar running pressure plus it's cheap!

Whats the piston made of?Hotglue moulded?

The piston is a bit of curtain rod that happend to fit very nicly in the pipe and the sealing face is some kind of foamy stuff that seals good.

thats a very...er...creative sounding piston! LOL, mine are all like that too, whatever fits well works hey! (and it usually doesnt cost :D )
