TBBBMG (tennis ball BB machine gun)

this is my BBMG, I used a tennis ball for the chamber, pen tubes duct taped together for the barrel because thats all I could find, and a CH blow gun.
I haven't been able to test it other than just blowing into it using aluminum foil balls as ammo, thats because I can't find the key to my trailor with my compressor in it
Edit: Oh I forgot to say, I dont want to take the credit for this, someone posted about this a while back, its not my Idea

well, it was hard to get consistent air flow by blowing in it, so I only got about 10 at a time out, that was with a QD in instead of the blowgun, they didnt feel to good when I stuck my hand in front of the barrel, I think that this gun might get to about 25 rounds per second, but that would be pushing it I think. As soon as I get some BB's and find my key I will post some damage pics and try to figure out the rate of fire (I hope to do this tomorrow)

Do you think thatdried peas would work as ammo?, That is a really good idea.

I got my compressor out over the weekend. I dont have dried peas, I tried coriander seed and they all just disintegrated in the tennis ball and smelled bad.
Aluminum foil balls worked ok, they did no damage though, I finally got to shoot BBs today, It has a decent ROF, but my compressor sucks and only holds 100 PSI and its only 2 gallon so it goes below 80 psi in about a second or less, so the few times I actually hit the soda can I was aiming at only dented the can. I was upset with this.

i am glad someone else tried building my tennis ball strafer and in order to get more power you need at least 120 psi through the blowgun also if you are still using the pens as a barrel that may be part of the problem. keep at it

That is a good idea. The tennis ball cloud chamber.
I don't think it's the amount of pressure your getting from your air compressor.
It's the volume of air it's holding, 2 gallon is tiny for something requiring a constent feed of air.
I have a 40 gallon air compressor with a 5 hp motor and duel piston pump head, and even it has a hard time keeping up with my high speed air tools, like my air hammer/3" cut of wheel, and my air drill.

Edit: I forgot to ask you what size is your BiPlane? What model is it, Pitts/Fokker/shopwoth camel/steadmen?

Is it a replica of a WWII plane?

R C modlers like me wan't/like to know.

These are nice planes, copied from Pitts design. Hows your landings, we couldn't see the nose in the pic. lol

I was pretty good, it has been a couple years since I have flown and I am probably still ok. I could do a bunch of different tricks and things, I could hover close to the ground, touch the tail, and go again. stuff like that
I won the fly in at my club a few years back after over a year of not flying.

I really need to make a cloud, I have a large 200 gallon+ industrial compressor that has an equililent of about 5hp electric motor (it's ancient so it went by older HP rating, yes they have changed, new "5hp peak" motors are almost never, if ever running at a true 5hp, and most of the time much lower....

I can use a blowgun at 100psi for a long timer (minutes) before it starts to refil, the thing is so old though, it doesn't have a built in reg :D

Cool! There's some flyers in this forum.

Over the winter I tried to do some 3D which turned out horrible.
I had an EPP plane and it got so brittle in the cold that it snapped clean in half a few times. I am going to try it again this summer though.

I mostly fly wings. I have a Superflea and now a Pocket Combat Wing which is almost ready to fly.

I have a question about clouds too. How well do they work when they receive air from the backrather than the bottom?
