This is my 2nd post in the airsoft part of the forums. I'm showcasing what you probably all know of what can become an airsoft gun is the good old nerf gun. No one's posted one of these before so I may as well do it lol :D. This is one of the guns I use in backyard skirmish with my friends and has the power of a cheap 15 dollar airsoft spring pistol. I can't buy airsoft so I use these. It's a fairly powerful gun which cost me about 10AUD. It may not look flash, but it's fun to play with since people won't know it's a bb gun <,<. It's a must if you live in an airsoft banned nation, and you can't be bothered building a handgun size weapon for your backyard skirmishes. Remember to wear your safety glasses.

Anyway enough with procrasinatin' here are the stats.

Max Range: 20-25metres
Effective Range: 12 metres
Velocity: 100-120fps
Length: 25cm'ish (extended barrels included)
Calibre: 6mm bbs or beads
Preferred use: Secondary, PDW
Good for: Backyard Battles
Source: Compressed Spring air

Here are some pics

Well the tubes i used for the gun was the felt pens you can buy in bulk, their $2 for 30, cheap and effective

I've put sticky tape inside the walls of the tubes so when you push the bb down it'll get stuck and won't fall out if you aim your gun down.

It's pretty fun for the good ol' backyard skirmish, sadly I wish Australia could make airsoft legal. A much more cheaper alternative to airsoft :(

Implement my hop-up design into each of the barrels and that would be a great improvised skirmish gun :D

Yeah the simple balloon idea works great.
I'm not sure if tape will work...since a nerf gun is spring powered.

Hmm you should post us some instructions on how to implement a hopup system because i know nothing about Hop-Up because well I don't own an airsoft gun :(. Well I've got other interested projects to do, i'm probably going to start on my spring sniper rifle, 10 shots and hopefully I'll be implementing a spring magazine for extra realism.

If you don't feel lazy could you post me some instructions.. The things you said in your NF1 post was confusing so if you could i'd be extremely thankful and grateful :D

Look in the how-to database. I posted a tutorial on my hop-up system.

wow that's too bad you cant even airsoft in aus, why is your govt really liberal or was it just part of some other bill passed unintentionally making them illegal?

Well I'll explain why...

Lets take us about 1992 I think (when i was born) there was this mental dude who escaped from the institute, bought a gun and went to a school and massacred like 20'ish people, in Port Arthur, Tasmania, Australia. From that point the government decided to "buy" back all the guns the Australian's purchased for full price in exchange for banning guns. Later on I believe that politics poisoned the minds of many Australians in believe anything gun shape (airsoft, paintball, etc) and now it's hard to bring back airsoft into Australia. Although there are paintball fields in Australia, they are very scarce and very very expensive.

Hope that answered your curiosity :(

yep thanks, hey why can't say someone from the us or any other country where legal ship the internals of the gun to Australia and just build your own frame for it, think it would be legal and pass customs

illegal and most of the 'internals' that are sent through are caught and the person that it is being sent to can face charges.

on another note, can someone send me a non gun shape looking AEG gearbox as a rc tank mechanism..

very nice gun there OP, i made one out of the nightfinder ex3 and its bloody hard to cock it because i added so much rubber bands lol, i also took out air flow restricter and streched spring. couple that with a 30cm brass barrel and you got a good airsoft gun :D

wow really strict there isn't it, someone should capitalize over there making non gun looking airsoft guns like the nerf gun posted, they could probably get permission if they were bright colored and oddly shaped.

just an idea for the gu itself, why not build like 10-20 of the pen barrels preload with pellets and make them so you can slip it in the barrel and have a spring connected to a pin lock them into place, that way you could keep up the rate of fire and not stop to fiddle with putting bbs in the barrel, just a thought.
