Homemade burst fire/full auto BB pistol.

Around four years ago I posted a how to topic on a site called Rotteneggs.com about an airsoft BB gun that was capable of burst and rapid fire.
This is a rather out dated version, but the design is exactly the same.
http://www.rotteneggsx.com/r3/show/se/192128.html
Take a look at the profile to see a validation of my Spudfiles name.

Over the time I have created many new models, but this one would have to be my favourite.
It is capable of propelling a 4.5 mm steel BB around 80 to 100 metres in roughly a second.

This here is the inside, the PVC tube fits snugly around the screw on washer that is supplied with the gas bike pump. If you are interested in building this gun, click on my other Photobucket gallery for step by step instructions on how to make this part, which is the most important part of the gun.

This is the rubber tubing, reinforced with some very strong clear tape, with some special tape string. It connects to a thicker tube and the barrel.

Image
This is the screw on washer which actually came with the gas bike pump. Also you see a wall of tape that I wrapped around the tube. This plugs the thick tube inside the gun. It should also be thick enough to fit snugly inside the muzzle of the Gas bike pump. The washer is then screwed onto the muzzle threading.

This is what the gas bike pump will look like once you take the covering off.

This is the model of gas bike pump that I got. They are around 56 dollars AUS. Notice the covering.

Image
This is what the gas bike pump should look like when all of the “stuff” inside the muzzle is taken out.

Image
This here is the screw on washer that is supplied. It is responsible for keeping the handle, the PVC tube, and the barrel/tube in place.

The handle is basically tied to the PVC pipe using zip ties with the help of five holes that I drilled out. The top tube was cut from a broken carbon arrow that I use as a basic sight.

Now, for the terrible quality video.

Tell me what you think!

Similar project here, I was disappointed that the valve leaked if not fully depressed, because I was keen to design a semi-auto high pressure pistol type launcher which anyone could build easily or cheaply.

Are you NUKEWARHEADSCIENTIST THEN?

Yeah I did notice that one. This would have to be perhaps the most basic of designs out there and I only thought of it by accident lol.

Oh and yes, NUKEWARHEADSCIENTIST was me. It's been so long!

Your rotteneggs design actually inspired me to start making bb guns and stuff in the first place, I'd say without you I never would have done any of this.

So, I guess what I want to say is, thanks for ruining my life! :D

Hey! It's always nice to hear from an old RE member. I like your design, I think I might put a hold on my current project to try one out.

Ahh yeah, I never actually go on that website anymore. Too many glitches.

One thing I have noticed sometimes with this gun is that you should never leave it out in the sun for too long. I have had a couple of co2 pump systems get destroyed on the inside and the only option for me was to buy a new one.

As an update. I had completely forgot about a simmilar post that I had made as NUKEWARHEADSCIENTIST.

It's not the same, however. It was a less efficient design that was poorly explained and was made to shoot airsoft BBs.

It's actually a trick to boost power a little with CO2 pistols, keep the 12 gram capsules in your pocket for a few minutes to warm them up ;)

Reasonable but not spectacular.
