I love these kinds of projects, you dont have anything to work with but you wanna put something together. Some of my beter ideas come from these kinds of projects because it really challenges your creativity and gets you thinking outside the box.

There needs to be a competition to make a cannon from nothing sold for compressed air or flowing liquids.

That would be a test of how well someone can improvise

Incidentally is it just me or is the b/strafer showcase page showing a massive "thumbnail" for this thread?

frankrede, vortex blocks perform much better than clouds, in certain ways. They have a better ROF if made correctly, look better, shoot harder, and are much more air efficient. Whoever wrote that specific Wiki article is wrong.
ArcticWolf, learn what you're talking about before opening your mouth. Clouds reach a max of 20 psi, because air blows through, it's not pressurized.
CyberWolfMan, you're just being stupid now. Try not to be, or your experience in spudgunning will end up being very short.

does anyone know why vortex's shoot harder? i think its because the BB gest shot aorund the curve the vortex block makes........... it should also give it a topspin, like a hop-up...... i might have to try that. i just keep kiving myself ideas lately........

I think Vortex Blocks might work better because the bbs are right ontop of the airhole and they get pushed out and with a cloud the just get sucked out with the flow of the air escaping. (just a thought)

Oh I made a new combustion cannon but i cant take any pictures yet :(,
its made of abs and i used a bbq sparker (it gave up on me) so then I went to the local swapmeet and found an old coleman lantern sparker (Just needed a flint) and now it works. I use any kind of fuel i can find around the house like spray deoderant etc. but i am goin to uprade it to propane soon. (once i get the money)

i just had to throw in my 2 cents, i am a noob at bbmg's but i have recently made both, a cloud and a vortex block (aluminum) and i can tell u the vortex shot harder, faster and more reliably than the cloud but dont get me wrong i love the cloud style cause its so simple.

That happened to me with my first cloud, the barrel was too small and a bb got stuck in the barrel, and when I pulled the trigger on the blowgun the cleanout cap popped off and hit me in the chest.
