This is digging back into the old days of mine and thursto's airsoft life, and this is a quality gun, very cheap but works well. We use these if were in an airsoft skirmish and either run out of ammo or have no air left.

It costs $2.50 AUD for 2 cap guns, they transform into BB guns with no mods at all. except ripping the orange cap off.

Here are some pics of how to load it. A video might be coming up tomorow.

That is how you load it. To shoot you jsut pull the trigger.

There is another of our ghetto guns, that we have been forced to use down here in Aus because our laws are SO GOD DAMN STRICT.

Other than the fact the bbs look like they wouldn't even come close to fitting in the barrel, it's a pretty cool gun! :P

yeah, you could probably fit another BB down with it.

i suppose we could put another barrel down there, only problem is if the revolver doesnt line up every time it wont work.

WOO GOO our old Ghetto guns, woop woop :P nah there not bad, especially when they dont no that you are there, and simple few rounds of loud bangs, and bb's coming at you, maks you want to etreat, and then that gives you time (the shooter) to reload, of get to saftey.

so correct me if i am wrong, but you put caps in a cap gun and then you put bbs in a cap gun over the caps and it actually fires. if that is the case that is one of the coolest ideas ever.never would have thought of that

Yeah i used to play with these when i was younger great fun! they dont really hurt coz the blast isent enough to push em out with great force. but we took more powder from other caps and then it started to get a bit scary shooting at my mates fence in his back yard. We could inbed them in pine about half a millimeter.

How fast would you say they shot out? Like $10 airsoft machine gun speed, $30 pistol speed, or $120 sniper speed  (if you know the actual FPS, that would be even better)

I am not entirely sure if this is possible with that gun, but to make the BB fit better in the barrel, you could sleeve the barrel with an aluminum one with an ID that is close to the diameter of the BB. If you chamfered the inside edge, it would probably work well and gain some speed. Looks like I have a new project...

I like the idea. Im going to go out to walgreens in a little and pick one up. Does it matter which one you buy or does any of them work?

This reminds me of my first spud gun. It was a party popper gun that came with little plastic shells filled with confetti. There were little red percussion caps (like the ones in cap guns) on the back of the shells, and when you loaded a shell in and pulled the trigger, out shot the confetti. I bought a pack of caps, cut them up, and put them on the back of the used shells, stuck them into potatoes, and shot them at the brick walls of our house. They had pretty good range, but the weren't very accurate... It was still a fun toy to play with! :P

find some pipe that's the same I/D as the BBs then roll tape around it till it fits the barrel snugly. You could give it a few hammer taps rested on a marble to flare out the breech end to mitigate any alignment issues.

yeah i might try that, i never would have thought about the marble. thanks for the comments guys

There wouldn't be much improvement in range by getting a better barrel. Firstly, the chamber doesn't always line up perfectly (these arn't prescision guns  ) Secondly, there is a gap a couple of mm wide between the barrel and the chamber where the combustion gas will escape. All a tighter barrel will do is make the gun less reliable, and have less range due to the increased friction (although it may make the gun more accurate)

I'm gonna have to try this, I always thought that the caps wouldnt have enough power to work.

they do, and work pretty powerfully.

I tried this once with some buckshot and actual gun powder. Long story short buckshot ended up in the part between thumb and finger and I suffered from a 2nd degree burn and my cap gun was irreparable i.e. plastic shatters (I had a crappy plastic one and I was 12 :P )
