I've encountered a problem while modding my sprinkler valve, one of the screws become round and forced me to drill it so that it is in half. unfortunately part of it is still suck on the cover of the sprinkler valve that i am modding. it sort of prevents me from closing the cover properly when i screw the other screws in, will this cause any problems with the valve and how it operates? In addition, may i ask is it possible to use wood putty to seal the hole on the cover?

The dremel is your friend. Without a picture, we can't be sure but by the sounds of it I'll say yes.

Post up a picture and we can go from there

Well, if I understand correctly, you have a bit of screw sticking out of the bottom of the lid that prevents it sealing.

If so, drill out the hole in the lid and the valve body, and use a larger screw to re-secure the lid using that hole.
