I made a few airgun darts, they are really accurate, are fairly easy to make and penetrate really far. (All the way in a hard wood plankwith a diana mod 50 with a broken seal).

A picture says more than a thousand words.... sometimes..

Great looking darts, I bet they can do some serious damage. What do you fire them out of?

You'll get damage pics from me soon, but I can explain how the thing works.

The 2 beheaded airgun pellets serve to keep the thing straight in the barrel, so it will come out of the barrel just as straight.

The copper wire decreases the chance of the thing breaking in half on fire, and it keeps the pellet together on impact..

And it works. :D

On hard targets, the steel core will keep on going into the target because it is still being pressed on by the back pellet.
The front pellet will get stuck in the target and let the steel core go so it can slide freely into the target, during this time the forces apperently gets to high that the steel core bends and breaks at multiple places, this is where the copper wire keeps it together so those parts can still transfer their momentum.

End of imaginairy high speed footage.

Kewl.

They look like mini versions of the m1 abrams 120mm AP round after the sabot flies off.

Making it look like that rifle would litterally rip your arms off when you fire it.

It would not be very enjoyable I think.

and i wasn't saying that it should look like a scout tactical... just not as lame as it looks at the moment.
