and these smaller 4' section of:(what is says on the pipe)

PWEAGLE 1" IPS 200PSI@73F SDR21 PVC1120 ASTM D2241 (UL) LISTED PVC COLD WATER PIPE 92FJ/UL C(WHERE IT CUTS OFF)

i will go back later and get some of that sch 40 but is that second type of pipe any good?

Of course! Combustions only go up to about 30 psi, and most pneumatic compressors only go up to 150 psi max.

Great find, btw.

I seem to remember a debate with BLB a long time ago in which we agreed that the theoretical maximum pressure developed by a metered propane launcher running an atmospheric mix is ~82psi. Though you won't see that unless conditions are just right. I'd be willing to bet my metered propane gun produces a fair bit more than 60psi on every shot though.

The pipe you mentioned is rated to 200psi, but has thin walls, so make sure you never drop it if it's pressurized. It's fine to use, though.

Remember, Schedule (Sch40, Sch80, etc...) is just a wall thickness and NOT a pressure rating - for it to be pressure rated, it needs to say NSF-PW (instead of NSF-DWV) and a pressure rating (such as the "200PSI@73F" on the pipe you have).

Peace,
Pete Zaria.

In a closed chamber the theoretical maximum pressure is about 120 PSIG. So, that would be the maximum pressure that a standard 1X combustion gun might reach. To get that you would need metered fuel, a chamber fan and a high friction and/or mass and/or a jammed round.

A well built gun, with the proper ammo, might get to 80 PSIG but I kind of doubt it. 60 PSIG sounds a lot more reasonable.

120 psi is the theoretical limit with no heat loss to the chamber . It might be possible to get close, but not with a normal gun.

Anyway, yeah, go and grab some. You'll be paying tax dollars for it someday, so take what you can get :)

Maybe you could get a picture of the place, btw?
