That method has never failed me, but I find freezing a potato with a nail in it works.

You can also get a part of the pipe you used for your barrel and use it as a mold. Put some water or concrete in it let them harden. 9water in freezer. Then you would have perfect size ammo. you can also take them out of the mold and file them to a point ^ and you will basically have 2" rifle bullets for your spud gun.

JDSpud you just gave me an idea.

Do what JDSpud said above by making a concrete or ice bullet. Then take the largest possible drill bit you can find so you can drill a hole down the middle of the bullet (from bottom to top), but not all the way through, just enough so that you have got a hollow bullet like an upside down cup. Place it in your barrel like an upside down cup and fire.

The air should fill up the hollow part first and then the air will have no where to go so it will be pushed out the back again. If you want more weight just dont drill such a deep hole or use a longer bullet.

Sorry if my explanation is crap. Its just a theory, I havnt actually tested it yet . All feedback is welcome.

very nice.
You could also have a dowel with a nut glued or taped to the front. (the hardware type of nut dummy) The metal top has a lot of damage. I also have a special type of powerful bullet I made out of oilet Paper and tape. I'll probably post it sometime later.

Playdo/dough works great. It is nice and heavy, very easy to get a good fit into the barrel and it sticks to walls and stuff when you shoot it.

i've custom made my own wooden rockets out of 1 1/4 dowel rods for my 1 1/2 barrel, the thing is that they fly too well sometimes and i never see them again, if anyone wants my designs just message me
