So I have a 1.5" barrel that I like to shoot foam balls out of, the balls are 1.75" and fit great(standard burp gun ball)... well I was shooting them today to plat fetch with my daughter... yes Im that guy... when she got bored with it I started shooting them at a tree... well earlier in the day I had serviced my diaphragm and had left a screwdriver on a table where I had been sitting all day... I got up to refill my sweet tea, came back and a few minute later pumped my gun up again, took aim and fired... 20 feet away I saw the red handle sticking out of the tree, my daughter had dropped the screwdriver down the barrel, and with the ball already having been loaded, shot perfectly straight out of the barrel and firmly planted itself in the tree a good 3 inches, and at only 40psi... gonna take it up to 120 sometime later to see how far this can be effective...

How long was the barrel?
I've shot a full size arrow out of:
<a href="
http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/new-thu ... .html">the Little Thunderpup</a>
I used a plastic grocery bag for wadding behind it and it penetrated a foam arrow stop the exact sam distance as a 60lb. compound bow with same arrow!
"Pup will hunt!!!"
I'm building a 1.5" barrel now.
Well double barreled breech loaded, with adjustable chambers (threaded) for variable chamber size. Also I'm planning on splitting the two barrels into two seperate cannons (so a friend can shoot with me).
Gotta see how those foam balls will work with arrows.
The interesting thing, I've shot two arrows at a time from "Thunderpup" with almost the same penetration as only one!
BTW,Can't wait to check how many will fit in 1.5" barrel. But I will test a cardboard wadding this time. (And those 2" foam balls).Thanks. 8)

So you're saying if your daughter hadn't got bored with playing catch, she would have a screwdriver imbedded in her?

Does this count as your daughter screwing you over?

She wouldn't drop a screwdriver in and THEN go stand in front of it, would she?
To put it another way: If she didn't got bored and was planning to go do something else, she wouldn't have loaded the screwdriver in.
If she would, then she would earn the platinum Darwin award.

I took it he was shooting the balls up in the air for her to catch.
Not directly at her.
Otherwise I don't think he would have been stupid ...
I've always wanted to shoot one of my nephews match-box cars.
Not at him of course, maybe at a brick wall to make it look crashed or something.

Morrow of this story should be, don't leave your spudguns laying around where your kidds can handle them!
This could have turned out very baddly.
