I need to know what typr of lube you can use on piston molds for a plunger on my pump I tried to use wd40 on a small piece of 1/2 copper and poured in the epoxy the epoxy will not come out it seemed like it wouldn't work.

I've had the same thing happen to me, and I've found that if you use some vice grips or pliers and squeeze the copper (assuming it is pretty short) so it deforms slightly into an oval-ish shape, after a few squeezes the piston should loosen up. Also I use vaseline for my molds.

I've been working at a kid's camp this week teaching and making carbon fiber Ipod cases with the kid's and I've been using olive oil as a lube and it worked perfectly.

Carbon fiber? You can do better things with that then just ipod cases!

Very, Very true; but the camp was all about Ipod Mods, so my boss and I chose to make cases out of carbon fiber cause it seemed cool.

A camp just for Ipod mods???? The fourth question mark says it all, I thought camp was for outdoor type of stuff, or band, or cheerleading, or football, Ipod modding? wtf, almost as dumb as buying water IMO.

^^It's a kid's science and building camp, so chill.

And last time I checked this is the same camp where I'm teaching a class of thirty kid's on building piston valve pneumatic cannons, so remember that before you call anything we do here dumb.

And considering the kids' also built amps and solar powered Ipod chargers from scratch during this camp (and I'm talking about 11 year olds doing this kind of stuff), I think they got a little more out of it then outdoor or cheerleading camp.

yea, BTW sillicone lube does not work for moulding pistons.

it dissolves into the epoxy, weakening it and making kind of hard to remove.

stick with cooking spray or vaseline.
