I can't find sch80 reducing bushings anywhere local. Is a sch80 NSF-PW 2" x 1/2" bell reducer going to be an issue at 200psi or less?

EDIT, sorry, wrong section. Could a helpful mod move this to building materials?

Where the hell did you find a bell reducer in SCH80? And a pressure rated one, no less?

Just because it's grey doesn't mean that it's SCH80. My local PVC distributor offers SCH40 pipe and fittings in both white and grey. It should say SCH40 or SCH80 on it.

Dude, the pipe and the fittings are damn near a half-inch thick, it's marked sch80, it's marked NSF-PW, it's from Charlotte Pipe and Foundry. I am more than competent enough to know what material I purchased.

What I want to know, and what I haven't gotten an answer to, is what pressure this bell reducer should be good to?

Fittings are rated to the same pressure as the pipe of a corresponding size. (A reducer being rated to the lower of the two pressures.) Meaning a 2" Sch 80 NSF-PW fitting is good to 400psi.

BTW a Sch80 PW PVC 2" x 1/2" bell reducer is officially the oddest fitting I have heard of someone having.

On that note, after taking EphOph's head off for offering advice, I have a correction to make on my part, , it's a 2"x1" bell from Charlotte and a 1"x 1/2" NPT-female bushing from SPEARS. These suckers are hefty and evil-lookin. The dark grey color is perfect for those of us too lazy to paint their cannons...

400psi, huh? I'm gonna have to buy that 260psi floor pump, and skip the Lawn Genie and go straight to a QEV or piston.

That sounds a little more reasonable. Although there are so many bizarre fittings out there I have learned that most anything is possible once you take even the half dozen most popular producers into account.
