I'm sorry, something bugs me about that quote,

My best ammo had to have been the broom handle with the steel threaded cap on the end that went about half a foot into the side a tree.

I put a 12' long, 1" diameter barrel on my dual sprinkler valve cannon and shot it at 165psi Co2.

Serious RECOIL!

No you didn't

As per your link:

The sabot is the blue part, the "shoe" which supports the sub-projectile in the barrel. It's the sub-projectile which actually flies to the target and does damage, like for example the glorified flechettes that are modern anti-tank kinetic energy penetrators.

The proper terminology would have been "saboted steel spikes", but I digress, let's not argue over semantics
we're talking about the same thing. mine was like example 1 but instead of 1 projectile there was 25 and the "shoe" was toilet paper. it was awesome. i made about 5 or 6 of them and killed a pecan tree.

saboted.

semantics.
Your orignal post then, should have been, put as that you used a single sabot with 25 projectiles, its the plural in sabots and the way that you worded it that was misleading.

My best ammo are zip tie darts. Originally I created them for lawn darts but then I realized the potential they had. I will post a pic when I make the next batch. They are made out of zip ties electric tape and fence wire, I have tempered some of them and those work really well.
