No, Dwv fittings and PW fittings aren't the same thickness, in regards to slip socket fittings. If you look @ the two side by side the wall and socket depth is noticeably different, along with the seam configuration. This original post was meant to be a helper for newbies to learn what kinds of fittings to look for when building a launcher out of pvc. Just to remind everyone that likes to split hairs, all the mfg's of PVC fittings and pipe reccomend with legal disclamers that their products not be used with compreseed air or gasses and not be tested with air or gasses! Build at your own risk with pleasing results.

In regards to Pipe, celluar core is the designation for pipe with at least 15% PVC construction at each contact surface. Which menas that the outside and inside walls of said pipe are a thin skin of PVC and the inside mass is a dense layer of foam. If you look @ the end of a section of pipe, you will see what I mean.

My preference of PVC manufacturers is Spears for several reasons which are:

1) Very wide choice of fittings in both SCH-40 and SCH-80 pressure rated.

They have choices others do not even offer! For example pressure rated bell reducers. A lot of people jump the gun and say you have DWV reducer not realizing that pressure rated ones are available!

2) They offer 3D/2D CAD software for professional use.

If you click on my signature you can see some of the PVC fittings I converted to Sketchup files. If you PM me I could send other CAD formats as well.
