Hello. In the next day me and my buddies are going to shoot our spud guns. However I'm the only one that has an Advanced Combustion Cannon. I really would love to impress them on the damage it can do. All I have shot out of it was raw spuds and D cell batteries. I have a 1-1/4" barrel. I had an idea would frozen spuds and other things like apples, and lemons that are frozen be distructive? Any ideas on a cheap easy and quick to make ammo thats way destructive would be very much helpful. Thanks..

Any time you "harden" your ammo you make it more destructive. Anything solid. Thing like oranges, lemons with a pulp texture tend to mush. I've all ways wanted to freeze a egg and try it but I have a 1" bore...

Sweet sounds good. Anybody else have any input or ideas for quick and easy destructive ammo?

Try a large lead or steel ball with wadding. That should punch a hole through some stuff.

google (and search spudfiles) for pycrete.

Cast slugs in short lengths of barrel.

jrrdw - Have you ever tried a piece of #8 rebar? Nominal Diameter is supposed to be 1.000" ( Reference: Rebar - Wikipedia)

EDIT: For that 1-1/4" bore, use either #10 (with wadding) or #11 ground-to-fit?

That surely would do some destruction. How would I get my hands on some though?

To omniscient: That sounds deadly he he he.

Basically you need to find an effective sabot, one you have that practically anything which fits in the barrel can be used. Some advice on how to make onehere.

Thanks for the suggestion! Is that only compatible with BB's though?

a sabot? no you can use anything as ammo with one, thats probably the best thing about them.

Nice I'll put that into consideration. Where would I get my hands on a Mandrel by the way. That's what it says I need in the how to.

To Technician1002: Yes I already know there is a sticky for that.

The mandrel in this case is simply a piece of pipe or rod that is slightly smaller in diameter than the inside of your barrel.

Thanks for the info. One more question of the matter though about the sabot. Since I have a 1-1/4" barrel what would you suggest for the mandrel?
