Refillable 12 gram CO2 capsules

Found these diagrams during an unrelated search, I remember there had been some discussion about converting CO<sub>2</sub> capsules for re-use so they might be of interest. Some good regulator ideas too.

The problem with CO2 is it's expansion with temperature. If the cartridge is overfilled and it does not have a proper pressure relief, it will fail in a spectacular fashion. Commercial cartridges have the seal that will blow out when overheated. They are also filled by weight. Most home users do not have the tools to inject a metered weight of CO2 into a cartridge. This makes it not so safe.

Tech, these are meant to be refilled with air as a substitute for buying disposable 12 gram CO<sub>2</sub> cartridges, rather than refilled with CO<sub>2</sub>

I never thought about it before, but when I read your post I thought "hmm... I wonder if you could just tap schrader threads into the inside of the neck. Seems like a suitable inside diameter...".
So yeah, I guess we all think alike around here :D
