For the issue of wandering, maybe adding backspin will fix that. A sort of hop up system. It works for airsoft, the principle should hold steady on large scale.
I'm not sure it would, as the projectile is spinning around an axis perpendicular to the direction of travel. My understanding is that backspin creates lift via the Magnus effect, flattening the trajectory at the expense of velocity, but does nothing to stabilise the projectile in the same way rifling does.Mr.Tallahassee wrote:For the issue of wandering, maybe adding backspin will fix that.

Won't stop 'em from spinning...but would make it worthwhile.jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:Chain another ball to it
Do you mean deliberately featuring (feeturing?) feet to tick me offMoonbogg wrote:Here is the Crowley style pic for your viewing pleasure.
The lower extremities being shown was intentional as hell. They will be fired when the design is done, raw material ordered and parts machined. It depends on how busy the shop is since this project will be the lowest on the priority list likely. It could be a couple months maybe. Possible sooner if I can get my ass in gear, make some design decisions (hardest part) and get drawings made.jackssmirkingrevenge wrote:Do you mean deliberately featuring (feeturing?) feet to tick me offMoonbogg wrote:Here is the Crowley style pic for your viewing pleasure.
Looks good, when will you be firing it, and at what?
