Pressure won't really matter for the barrel unless its a coax or subject to really high pressure. You can sleeve it for extra rigidity and strength. What pressure did you have in mind? After all, it is carbon fibre.

400-600 psi its not a coaxial but i was just wondering if it would explode and send razor sharp shards everywhere http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Carbon-Fiber- ... 500wt_1287 thats the stuff.

Nice. You should be ok using that as a barrel.

i might consider some sort of sleeving (i had a 2 hour conversation with some guy in chat he wanted me to buy SS tubing even though i told him 8 times that i have Carbon fiber, and that carbon fibre is cool)Gun Freak wrote:Nice. You should be ok using that as a barrel.

I would sleeve it so it doesn't get damaged or bent and a sleeve will keep it straight too.

Sleeving with something would only improve the strength of it, and make it a bit safer should a crack develop in the carbon fiber. However, it won't be necessary to sleeve it to prevent 'bending'. You bend carbon fiber, and it bends back. Bend it too far and (if it's a thin rod) it gives, suddenly becoming very weak at the bend as the fibers seperate. If it's a tube, it'll just snap. I've never had a carbon fiber tube bend without breaking, before.
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges.
Right now I'm having amnesia and deja vu at the same time. I think I've forgotten this before.

What do you mean by saying, "How accurate" it will be.wondering about max psi and how accurate it would be, 8mm od x 6mm id
Depends on many factors. The statement is abit vague.
Let's just hope the carbon fibre tube will be straight
How are you planning to attach the carbon fibre tube to your pnuematic cannon?
Considering you are gonna be using the pnuematic at 400-600psi.......

If that barrel explodes, you will regret it.
Damaged or abused carbon fiber is vulnerable to failing rapidly and very dangerously.

And these were carbon tubes made specifically for this role and made to MUCH higher standards than that crappy tube is. All it takes is a little crack, and those splinters will be in your face.

Will an air rifle fly straight compared to brass and copper.daniel0663 wrote:What do you mean by saying, "How accurate" it will be.wondering about max psi and how accurate it would be, 8mm od x 6mm id

lol just because you can't get something for free doesn't mean it isn't a better choice...ohh and as I said earlier just buy a proper steel barrel... they aren't very expensive
steel is better: cheaper, stronger and lighter (definately lighter than cf + sleeving)

i weighed the nylon and some carbon fiber i had (alot more than that tube)
and it only weighs 423 grams which is very light
And i like the look of thick black nylon looks like an integral suppressor.
