I was wondering how I would go about boring out a pvc T for use in a piston valve. Like this http://www.spudfiles.com/forums/the-sta ... 10049.html
Without using a dremel.
And do you have to bore out the T if you bolt in the back cap?

I've done it before with an appropriately-sized hole saw. I'd recommend using a drill press to make sure you drill straight. I never used it in a pressure application and I'm not sure I would ever be comfortably doing so. PVC scares me enough as it is, make sure the tee is reinforced with other fittings as demonstrated in that thread you linked.

If you got a drill press or power drill a rasp bit works very well.
