Is it safe to use PVC parts with QEV's?

I recently bought this QEV.

Is it safe to use PVC pipe and connectors with it? I only intend on working with pressures of a little over 100PSI at most.

Also on eBay, I saw some 1/4 in NPT threaded QEV's. Where can you even find pipes and connectors that small for them?

You should use steel (close) nipples to connect the QEV to the PVC fittings. Male PVC threads can crack and break too easily. Otherwise it should be okay. If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me.

Thanks for the info.

So do you just screw one end of the nipple into a terminal of the QEV then screw in a female threaded PVC connector onto the threaded part of the nipple that is sticking out?

Yep, you got it. Also, be sure to use Teflon tape (plumbers tape) on all of your connections.

Depends on who you talk to.

I - for one - maintain that PVC shouldn't be used for any part of your valving or reservoir on a pneumatic.
