Are you trying to actually duplicate a factory QEV...

Or is it that you wish to build a piston valve?

Do you have a barrel size and configuration (co-ax, barrel sealing....) in mind?

If you're willing to build with care and attention to detail, many soft plastics can be used as a sealing surface...the lids used on margarine/coffee/etc. containers for example. Longevity may turn out to be an issue, but you can't beat the cost.

For a small piston valve launcher, you should be able to use the seal disc from the cap of a pop bottle.

I made a custom valve seat for my Mouse Musket with an O ring. I bedded it in some caulking so it could be made flat in the valve seat. It worked well for a 1 inch valve.

The valve seat contained the seal so the piston could be made lighter and less likely to break. See the thread on the Mouse Musket for details on the valve seat construction.

Not sure if it helps but you can order from Lowes website and they will ship. The shipping would add to the cost though.

On the other hand there is usually a way to improvise with whatever junk is available if you really look.

I joined here when I was 14 (18 now) And I still built a few airguns. I drive a dirtbike, but I got mine plated for street, so I'm all good.
