Ran across these, for combustions.

Is this a good deal, ran across these doing research on Piezo's.

Pay a little more and get two wire set up.
With one wire unit ya gotta modify to turn into two wire for pos. neg.

all that time on this site and you don't know that? you kidding me?

Its less then $3, Does it really matter? Seems a good price to me, though personally I buy These as they are awesome and cheap, for me, though its a New Zealand auction site and they don't ship outside the country.

Yea, i know that, and no i'm not kidding.

The question is -- Is this a good deal?

I have to pay 13.$ for the two wire and get well insulated leads
MrCrowley gets a pretty cool deal-- two wire
I'm sorry if I've offended you.
Of course it is a good deal!

No, not offened, just thought you overlooked the question due to it's simplicity. I do that all the time, lol.

I found two interesting things:

Olympian Continuous Ignition Multi-Spark Ignitor
http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templ ... &noImage=0

Camp Chef Electric Ignitor
http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/templ ... &noImage=0

But yes, those look like a good deal.

the camp chief says electric but it looks like a pezeio
Idon't see where a bat. would fit

I bought from these people^ good bat. ignitor

Piezos are electric, they produce an electric spark from whacking a crystal.

The continous ignition multi-spark ignitor looks interesting... Is it saying it keeps sparking when the trigger is down?

What do you use to whack it with? And how does that make eletricity?

You "whack" it with a mechanical hammer. As your press down, it compresses a spring then a sear slips, and the hammer "whacks" the crystal.

The crystal is symmetrical and as mechanical energy is transferred to the crystal the line of symmetry creates a positive side and a negative side of the crystal. The electrodes are connected at 90 degrees to the line of symmetry at the farthest point from it and this translates to a few tens of thousands of volts. Also the orientation of the mechanical energy imput doesn't matter.

Whats the hammer made of?

It can be made of any hard material. The charge is created by the process of piezoelectricity. This is the phenomenon that occurs then impact or deformation of a crystal having certain piezoelectric properties, (quartz is a good example), creates a voltage across the face of the crystal. A very small deformation of the crystal creates a very high voltage which creates the spark. Piezoelectric actuators work on the reverse principle, moving humongous loads thousandths of inches when voltage is applied. Good for micro-adjustment.

Looks like a really good deal.
Does anybody know where to get the igniters from grill lighters?
