So I am looking to buy the following materials (please add any advice or suggestions if you can to help me with this build):

SCH80 PVC pipe for barrel and chamber, Diameter TBA
Cleanout adapter
Matching male thread adaptor
Piezoelectric ignition
Propane meter
40mm - 100mm brushless fan

We would also like some sort of Breech loading setup, what do you guys suggest i use that isn't that expensive? Or is that what the male and female adaptor threads do?

I am new, please help, If you guys think this is a good activity and you would like to increase the popularity then you guys should probably give the new guys more respect :!:

You could use a poor man's breech (can be found by using the search button). Also, you can't buy a propane meter, you will have to construct your own.

If you truely want to pay 75 dollars for 10 dollars or less in pipe fittings, then be my guest.

You could even watch his tutorial and build it yourself.

You'll probably want to use this to help you do your calculations.

A few suggestions for saving some money on this build:
Build your own propane meter and pay less than what you can buy one for.
Use Sch 40 PVC (or solid wall ABS), since this won't generate more than 80 psi.

Good luck, and I look forward to seeing the finished product.

I think you can go with a 3" to 3 1/2" barrel diameter, and just use a 20" long 4" diameter Chamber to equire the needed blast for your barrel size. But You also need wadding or somehting to protect the chiken from melting or deforming, if you want to reuse it. IS THE CHICKEN HEAVY ENOUGH TO FLY OUT OF THE CANNON A GOOD DISTANCE? becuase if the chicken is rather light it wont be going very far, make sure you use porpane for your fuel sorce, and maybe even a stun gun igniton, becuase your chamber is going to have to be rather BIG.

Hi

I saw a rubber chicken fired from a combustion on youtube... its head was just stuck into the muzzle, the body still hanging outside. It ended up in a tree some good distance away...

Sorry I have no time looking for the clip now.

It seems rubber chickens fly ok.

Regards
Soren
